im having fibro for 5 years now and the most unfomfortable feeling i have of all the full body pains is the feeling in my face.

if you can ill appreciate if for a second you concentrate only on your face and tell me exactly what you feel daily and how bad is it?
i have extreme sensitivity on my face, that you really feel when "tapping" on the face especially on the sinuses or eye sockets(no sinusitis), but all over.
the feeling is of "fullness" on the face all the time, unability to deal with the outside, looking directly at people etc, in addition to my never ending chronic stuffed nosed-started before fibro.
sometimes i actually have the feeling of foreign object in my eyes and i can "feel" it.
of course the feeling in the eyes especially is very unfomfortable.
i must say that when i do have "active dryness" here and there, the dryness feeling definatelly worse then what i have daily, and as you may know a doc didnt find a thing in the eyes exept for the usual dryness.

but it is very harsh feeling that effect me very much, and although i know it may be a part of the full fibro feeling, but its not a common thing that i hear from fibro patients.

so i will apreciate if you describe to me the feeling in your face.

?BTW-the feeling in the face is not like "painfull migraines" or the sharp feeling like you feel when youre puking/have headache and go away after a few hours. its not like people with chronic headaches may feel all the time, but its more very very annoying stuffed feeling then "pure painfull that you want to cry".
one in a while, like in months, i may feel extreme stubbing to the head bt not more often, mostly its just very very unfomfortable.

Hello, taltal, and welcome to the forum!

I don't exactly have what you described in my face as a whole, but I can relate to what you're saying about your eyes. I often feel like there is something in mine, too. Sometimes an eyelash will come out and go in the eye because I have Blepharatis (a chronic inflammation of the eyelid.) Very often, as you say, there's nothing I can see, but my eye will still be sore and feel sticky. It can get very uncomfortable indeed.

let me ask you and the others this:
tap with your fingers all over your face and especially on the eye sockets/sinuses(nose) and on close bones on the face.
do you feel big discomfort when tapping? even pretty big pain?

thats the thing, i have the bad habit of tensing my eyes much, and sometimes as i look in the mirror i notice it, and when i release them i see them mooving pretty much.
i have it for years actually, and i also find myself tense my shoulders alot and pull them upwards to the ears without noticing.
when i tried finding the cause, searching for sinusitis and the feeling i have in my nose, the docs found nothing yet the feeling always stayed which made me thing its fibro related.

taltal, no, I don't feel discomfort when I tap those areas. My doctor asks me the same thing as he taps to see if I have a sinus infection.
I do sometimes tense my shoulders the way you're describing, though. I also notice one hand will be tensed in a fist for no reason.

Hi taltal, welcome to our fibro family, I tried the tapping on my face and I have no pain at all their. I have the stuffy nose and get a cold at the change of each season, but I only have pain in the face when I have a sinus infection. You might want to see an ear, nose, and throat dr. for a second opinion. I havent heard of anyone else with fibro complaining about this so it sounds like there might be something else going on.
Once again welcome to the group and feel free to ask questions, vent or offer support, also please keep us posted as to whether they find anything as to what is causing all this pain in your face.
Gentle Hugs

Welcome and I'm sorry you are in pain.

Has your doctor checked you for sinus infection???? Or anything along those lines?

I don't have pain in my face, although my mom teases and says that my face pains her. lol

Mine is more in my head....the lightheadedness and headaches. I do have some blurry vision but no pain.
Hope you get something figured out soon.

I have some issues with pain in my eyes...and yes feeling like something is in one but there never is. I have like a wierd pressure feeling behind my eyes alot. I do have allergies so I guess I always blame it on that...even though they may not even be flared up. Tension is an evil thing...and tends to cause me alot of I have to make a point of relaxing various body parts. I do myofascial release therapy so try to implement that at home too. I have tenderness but not extreme pain when doing the tapping you asked about. My thing is the pressure behind my eyes, temples, and forehead. I hope you get a check up with someone who would know what to look for. I never really know which of the random pains are from fibro but it seems like there are alot...and it always seems to change from one day to the next...for me. Good luck.
Trying to keep my focus...

Fibro, deg/bulg discs in neck, rotator cuff tear, exteme nerve pain in hands after carpal tunnel on both, multiple foot surgeries with pain still, IBS, tension headaches, (Lap band)

I have never heard of this with fibro.  I would suggest you see an ear, nose, throat specialist.  It sounds like something in that area.
I will get some sinus pressure when storms are around and tapping on the bones around my eye will feel a little tender but that rarely happens to me and it's caused by sinus problems, not fibro.  So, if you are feeling this badly, I would suggest you search out a specialist.  Not everything is caused by fibromyalgia.  Let us know what you find out.  Hope you get answers and feel better soon.

When I tap or press lightly on my face, I get a light "rushing" sound in my ears like the wind is blowing lightly.  I know, I know--a little nutsooo!  But actually, I get that same rushing sound in my ears when I press lightly on most any part of my body, arms, legs, etc.  I've just always chalked it up to the nerves in my body responding in some weird way because fibro is a nerve-pain-brain not working properly, kind of disease.
I haven't any of the fullness feeling you write about.  I do have the something in the eye feeling alot and don't particularly have dry eyes.
Hope you find some answers soon.
