((((saintsfan)))), I hear you! I'm flaring so I do feel your pain. I always say
these darn flares do end. In the meantime, soaking in a hot bath helps...I
did this morning and it feels good :)

I told my flare it had to leave before the end of the day, I will see if it listens, lol

Hope you feel better soon!

Hugs, Robin wink

Ok, another question - if the pain is constant, in other words, my hip pain, how can they say fibro? To me, I have always assumed fibro moved from place to place; but if it's always in the same spot, and all tests come back normal, wouldn't that make the fibro degenerative?

Maybe it is sciatica. If it is a constant pain in your hip, it could be. The sciatic nerve runs down your leg and often it can feel like the hip is aching. I get that a lot. But it goes away after a while. Usually.

Fibromyalgia can be so dumbfounding. I just get overwhelmed with the different symptoms. I always have constant shoulder pain. It never leaves. And I know a lot of it comes from tense muscles. So it can stay in one place. I don't think it is degenerative, but if you don't move your muscles, they get rigor. So keep moving as much as you can.

Thanks for letting me vent. Karen-it's not sciatic, well, according to ortho doc anyway. I'm just wishing for my old self again--I miss her!

saintsfan, I think it is natural for all of us to miss our old self. There are days when I mourn the loss of my good health and will feel sad and cheated. I know
I can't dwell on certain things because it doesn't help me. I do understand...
I'm still holding out for a cure!!!!

Hi Saintsfan,

We all go through a period of mourning our old self. We have to settle for our new self. That person isn't so bad, maybe a little slower, but good at heart. So embrace that person. Know that we all care about you. Keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

Saintsfan...I am so sorry to hear you are having a hard time. I do understand the frustration...and missing the old self. I too struggle with that as I am pretty new to this diagnosis. I keep hoping that the meds will work miracles and bring her back...but my reality kicks in and knows that if the meds give the new me a few good days here and there then I need to learn to be grateful. UHG...I know...easier said than done. I hope your knots relax soon so you can have a much needed break.
Trying to keep my focus...
