Let's play... "Name that Pet"! OK, silly name but let's share the names of some of the pets you've had. If you want you can explain why you gave your pet his/her name. Let's go~~

You must remember that I have had a large number of decades to accumulate and enjoy my pets so if the list seems long do take that into consideration. smilewinkgrin Currently we have Cedar, our Golden Retriever puppy. I chose the name because we have wooded acreage and the Cedar trees are my favorite. I chose the name long before we found her and the strange thing is the breeder we bought her from lives by the Cedar River.

Other names for dogs: Trucker, Trina (nickname for her long show name), Moose, Odie, Chomps, Mo~Heir <I didn't name that one rolleyes > Buppy, Peanuts and all of these died of old age. I know I left someone out. Oh, like a delinquent poodle my aunt gave me named 'Pretty Boy'. I knew something was wrong and it was. He lacked quite a few brain cells....lol

Some of the cats over time: Bob (lol..I always loved that name for a cat...Bob-Cat), Einstein (white tufts of hair sticking out of her ears), Tug, Tigger, Mango, Snowball, Ditz (she really was not all there. was a stray long hair tortie that someone dumped so I rehabbed her), there's one I'm trying to hard to remember..and if I do I'll add it later on.

Horse, Palomino - Candy

Sheep - Cashew and Oreo. When Oreo was pregnant with twins we called her Oreo with Double Stuff. tongue

Didn't name all of the chickens, peacocks, etc and when I was a kid dad wasn't in favor of naming the cows. Didn't want us to get attached. wink

Now it's your turn! What are the names of some of your pets?

Right now we only have one mama's kitty. He is a huge grey long haired poofball. His name is Dusty...you would think it seems obvious right? Our last 2 dogs who were such a huge part of our family were named Dino and Rusty. We lost them both and still to this day I am emotional about it. So it only seemed right to combine the 2 names and now we have Dusty.
Trying to keep my focus...

Fibro, deg/bulg discs in neck, rotator cuff tear, exteme nerve pain in hands after carpal tunnel on both, multiple foot surgeries with pain still, IBS, tension headaches, (Lap band)

Savella, MS contin, Vicoden, claritin, prilosec, flonase, vitamins, calcium

I have a Cairn Terrier named Zoe. After me and my husband went through most of the names we finally agreed that Zoe was the name that fit her personality the best. We also have a Westie and his name is Deuce. My sister has his brother and his name is Ace. We named them after our Grandpa's favorite game...poker! I had another Westie I named Mojo after Jim Morrison and The Doors.
Thanks, this was a good start to my day! I love to talk about my fur-babies...lol

We have Sonny. He is part lab and pit bull. He was a rescue dog. My hubby was set NO DOGS! I went and checked Sonny out..that weekend we were going to have all our grandkids so I thought if he can pass the test of grankdis the maybe hubby would say yes. Sonny was so gentle with gkids and we all fell in love with him. We've had him now almost 6yrs. He's my best friend and my daily companion. He is laid back and if you could see him now he's laying on his back belly up with his front legs stretched to the heavens!! and I believe he's got a smile on his face!

Great topic, Chutz! You had a Bob-cat, I have a Tom-cat! :D

Let's see, dogs I've had in my life, going back to childhood: Shinook, Winky, Molly, Garp (loved the book), Bill, Gretchen, Sashi, and now Dylan and Jack.

Cats: Tigger (a brat), Sarah, Amy, Megan, and now we lucked into Tom (the enlightened one - we settled on Tom because we couldn't agree on anything more dramatic, but it's a very simple name for someone so complex), Kenya, and Leo.

I won't try to remember all the mice, gerbils, and fish the kids had. I love animals but that's something I don't miss!

My furbabies are brothers, Charlie and Frankie...tabby and lynx mix. Both boys
get into quite abit of mischief. Frankie is the brains and Charlie is the muscle.
Charlie thinks he is a dog...he always licks my face. Frankie can open closed
doors and likes to hang out in the linnen closet. My towels tend to get furry.

I love them both, no matter how naughty they are.

hugs, Robin

The only one I've ever had on my own was a gray tiger cat named Furrball. My kids found him when he was a kitten
with his throat ripped open and we had him for about 12 years.
