Pain has been bad the last week, more than usual. Sunday I did a very simple task that has never hurt me before. Pain started that night. Knee pain from surgery and fibro. pain all over. All day yesterday and today has been so bad. Dr. finally called in a muscle relaxer for me yesterday. I was able to drag myself to the pharmacy but once I got home I had to go straight to be without even taking a pill. Got up long enough to cook dinner then went back to bed. Today I started the flexeril first thing. It helped very little. I was so disappointed. I just took another one hoping it will help.

I know I am just complaining, sorry. Just a tough two days.

Sorry, Sheila. I hope your pain exits soon....don't you just hate that?? I wedged myself into a strange position a few minutes ago, plugging in a lamp behind my piano. So of course I'm wondering now if I will pay for this great sin...

Sheila, I'm sorry that your'e still hurting. Don't give up though... think it's
going to get better. If you let your self slide into a bad mindset, it makes it all
the more difficult....I know I've been there.

Do what you can today to distract the pain. Sometimes playing computer games
help me take my mind off the pain. Or another thing that has helped...play on
youtube...listen to music you haven't listened to in years. Music can lift the
spirits. I will pray that your day gets better!

Sheila,
i'm in agreement with Robin, whenever I'm feeling really down and trying to figure out what I did or why this is happening..I put a favorite cd, turn it wide open and dance the best I can..sometimes we can't dance at all...but our spirits can!! My motto, is turn it up, grab a hairbrush and become a superstar in your on home!!!! love it!

Nana, this is one of the reason's my oldest grandson's call me NNL.."Not Nana Like"

hi sheila,
im so sorry for what your going thro,i have just started to come out of a long flare that lasted
several weeks so i do know just how bad your feeling. i also dont seem to do anything to set
off a flare i often just wake up or get woken up during the night with terrible pain.
i thot the flare would never end and i started to feel very down, i was trying my best to keep myself upbeat, i couldnt listen to music or watch tv due to my fibro effecting my hearing - its like certain noises really hurt my ears and even light was hurting my eyes.so it was very hard for me not to
go downhill, infact it wasnt till today i felt good and i realised just how down i had felt. i was spending most of my time on my own due to pain, noise and light but i dont think its a healthy thing to do.
iv decided that in future i wont isolate myself as much as im afraid of getting depressed, well its my intention not to do it again but easier said than done.lol.
so i do get how your feeling, try to think of something you can do when your feeling better thats a small treat for yourself.i done that and today i went out and bought myself a dvd box set iv been wanting but i could only go into the shop and back home again, its made me feel better and i feel i deserved a treat after what iv been thro the past few weeks.

there is so much to try and work out about fibro but i find it impossible, there are so many symptoms arent there ! and so many thing just set it off,i often feel its just not fare for us.
i do hope you feel better soon, emotionally and phisically.
sending (((hugs))) and i hope you have some pain free days/nights very soon
you will be in my thoughts and prayers
shana

Thanks everyone.

I had one hydrocodene left over from surgery and I took it yesterday. It really helped. Was able smile. Was able to get in the shower. This morning the fatigue is still bad and the pain is building. I just can't spend another day laying down in the bed. Gotta take my daughter to the dr. and then a meeting. This a day I just want to rest.

My poor family suffers when I get this way. My daughter who also has fibro. had to go to the grocery store for me. My youngest daughter who has special needs has needed me to be more alert.

I'm trying real hard to stay positive. I suffer from depression even without the pain. It's just so hard to pretend to be OK.

Today I am gonna try harder to get up and do for my family. This pain and fatigue is just not going away and I can't keep putting everyone on hold.

You are right!  You can't spend another day in bed.  That makes the pain worse!  I know where you are coming from.  I'm like that all summer here in Florida and I can't wait for the weather to break.  I am much better in the winter months.

Just keep on keeping on and you will start to feel better.  Hope that's soon, too!

You have every right to complain.
That's what we are here for.
to let you complain and we will listen. :D

I know that bad days sure do suck and it's even worse when we have others to take care of and we only want to stay in bed.

I hope you start to feel better soon.
Sending you soft hugs girlfriend.

Hi Sheila,
I hope today is a better day for you! Just try to not overdo it, even though for all of us that is so easier said than done. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and then had dinner with my Mom, I was so exhausted afterwards that I felt like I couldn't even move. Then stupid me decides to do a load of laundry...bad idea! Ended up having a horrible flair up last night to where I was balling my eyes out. One of the things that I like to do that really gets my mind off the pain is reading a good book. Last night was kind of difficult because it was so bad, but when I'm laying down just hurting and feeling like I just can't move, I'll pick up a book and it gets my mind off it at least a little. I'm not sure if you like to read but it does help me to at least be able to escape for little while.

I really hope that you start to feel better soon. I'll keep you in my prayers!

Oh Sheila I'm so sorry you are having such a bad time. cry    You sure do have alot on your plate.  God Bless you for being such a trooper.  I unfortunately depend on Percocet to keep the away.  If I didn't it would be intolerable.  I hope you can get some rest and the pain subsides for you.  Take care,
Stay positive,

Sheila, I feel your frustration! Living with chronic pain is a constant balancing
act. I find for myself, that getting outdoors...a change of scenery....a drive in
the car or just meeting up with friends when I'm really hurting helps.

When I'm feeling down the sooner I break that mindset the better. I feel bad
for those who suffer depression, I know that it is an illness. Growing up, I saw
how it affected two of my family members. They found meds that helped and
both sought help from a therapist. Do whatever it takes to help yourself. You
are worth it!

My heart goes out to you and hope this pain will end soon.

Hugs, Robin
