I had something like that before. I had this big round patch area above my left knee that kinda burned, tingled, felt slightly numb....it just happened to be mentioned at the doctors office on one of my visits and the doc tried to say it was shingles. well, I never had nor did I ever get a rash with it. so, I didn't believe him. It did go away on its own as mysteriously as it had appeared. Never came back. It lasted several months. after awhile I just got used to it.

As far as being fibro related, I couldn't say. I believe this had happened long before I was ever diagnosed with having fibro. sorry I'm not much help.

Some people get stabbing, piercing pain but mine is usally burning.   My arm 'flab' is the worst...LOL!  A doctor once told me it comes from lactic acid in the muscle but I have no idea if that's true.  It comes and goes, like everything else with this disease.

I've had this weird burning for about 3 days so far but I have had it off and on thru the years. I don't know what causes it.

I have been getting a burning pain on the side of my knee.  If I slightly tap my knee, it's like someone took a blow torch to the side of my knee.  I also feel like water is drippng down my legs and I sometimes feel like my skin is cold and wet.
