Does anyone have foot pain with their FM? My feet draw up with muscle spasms. I notice the arches are not looking right either. Sometimes the bones feel like they are broken. No joke! I start to put my foot into the sock and instantly my foot starts to cramp up. Toes drawling up too. I was wondering if low magnesium causes muscle spasms? I have no medical insurance right now, so I have to try to help myself and figure it out myself. I remember one time my magnesium was low, but no longer on them anymore. The pain in not in my heels, mostly above the heels.

Yes, I have foot pain and I also have muscle cramping. I have sciatica and often the pain in the bottom of my right foot relates to the acupressure point for pinched nerves. It does help if I massage that point or put some pressure on it. Your foot bottom is like a map to lead you to other problems in your body that are out of whack and putting pressure on specific zones can relieve pain elsewhere. Google reflexology and images for that to see a foot map. You also might be low in magnesium. Many fibro sufferers have problems with hypermobility where any sudden move can throw the body out of joint. I do have that in my wrists, knees and feet so have to be careful moving suddenly. I hope you find some relief.
Have to checked in your city/town to see if there is a low cost or nearly free/sliding fee scale clinic? There are more nationwide than I ever imagined, At least then you could get some medical help since you don't have insurance.

I have had terrible cramping just like you described. I started taking calcium citrate for osteoporisis and the cramping stopped! I googled it and saw that low calcium can cause cramping. You might try that.

I do have foot pain but I have several structural problems with both my feet. The fibro makes it worse. As far as the cramping goes, I'm in the magnesium camp. I have had issues with leg cramps at night so take 500 mg of mag in the evening and the problems have been greatly reduced. Hope you find relief very soon, Lee

I agree with solar powered since I have been taking magnesium my leg and foot cramps have been reduced by at least 90%. Also now when I get them they aren't as severe as they used to be.

My right foot arch slowly "cramped" up to become deformed to a high arch while my left foot arch stayed almost flat(normal for me) I had to go to foot dr and get custom made orthotics due to not being able to walk without being in severe pain, felt like a broken ankle/foot. The dr said it was a muscle spasm tha will probably stay that way.

My foot pain was the first symptom that lead me to a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I have had migraine headaches for 43 years but the foot pain coming on really had me worried. It has been two years now, and I have spent a year being treated by a foot dr and now I am under the care of a spinal pain management dr. Recently I had an epidural steroid injection and then two weeks later a facet joint injection both in my back to help my foot. Well neither injection has helped. The relief I find is in taking magnesium every day and flexerill at bedtime which helps me sleep and improves the spasms in the right foot but it never really goes away. I hope you find something that works for you.
