Hey everyone,

I woke up today with bad pain and extreme weakness and fatigue. My body is shaky and my anxiety is over the roof. Every time my family makes even the smallest amount of noise I cringe because I feel like my head will explode. I was at the doctor earlier and my blood pressure was high.

I'm usually not one to over-react but today I feel especially awful. I can't think, I can't move, I feel like my whole body is just shutting down. I took some flexiril and slept a few hours which helped, but I'm still so. goddarn. exhausted.

I don't know if its the anxiety or what, but I have this really bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I am just so weak, this is not right. Dp you guys think I should go to the hospital? Or am I overreacting and should sleep it off?

Thanks in advance...

Well, having been in situations like this, sometimes I feel the ER makes you feel worse. At least in my cases, having been undiagnosed at the time, having to wait for 4 or more hours only to have nothing done. I would have rather been in misery at home.

That being said, you are the only one who knows your body. If something isn't right, go! They will at least get you on an IV to get you hydrated and possibly something for the pain (although that's always up in the air). And you may get a good Dr. who has some insight into why you aren't feeling well. But again, as I caution everyone, many ER drs won't take you seriously if you tell them you have Fibro. Someone even posted their experience on here about it.

As far as your head, do you think you may also have a migraine? I know some people can get seriously HORRIBLE migraines that make them feel like they are dying. If this is the case, the ER would have medication for this.

Please keep us updated. I really hope you feel better Tara!

you know, i think maybe you should go. since you don't know what it is, you don't know if you are gonna get worse. you will at least get an IV drip.

tell them everything you are being tested for. maybe they can run some tests as well.

Thanks BeachGirl, you are always so helpful :)

I think I'm going to wait it out until tomorrow and go then if this continues. I really don't want to waste my time or theirs (the doctors') but something is really not right and I'll go if it doesn't get better soon.

If you're able to hang in there ask your dr for a depro medrol shot. For fibro it's like a super
painkiller in a shot. I still have major flares about twice a year so severe I get one. Hurricane
season is one of my biggies even though I'm in New York, the barometric pressure still hits
up here.

If your blood pressure is high go to the ER my DH had chest pains and they put him straight in.
As they said it is better to be safe then sorry, if you tell them your concern they may take your blood pressure straight away.
My mother would of died if she had not gone in just in case.
A little time now is better then a lot of time later.

Don't tell them you have fibro. They can run tests to see if it is anything of concern. Since this isn't normal for you, it's probably not related to your fibro. You will be taken more seriously.

I have learned myself to wait and sit it out at home. We have a long wait and usually get very little help. I think your body really knows when you had enough. Glad your feeling better.

I'm afraid that unless you have a measurable problem, like very high or low BP or sugar, they will really do nothing for you at the ER, except of course send you a huge bill. I have been there before and I try to isolate from family and noise and wait it out. They get pissed, but I don't care at that point.

Hope you feel better
