Hi all,

I haven't been on for a while, due to alot of things going on.
I just have a quick question & I'm hoping someone can help me.
Every now and again my hands smell like garlic, I have not eaten or handled garlic, it just suddenly comes on lasts about a day then dissappears.
washing my hands seem to make it worse.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has or does experience this & how can I get rid of it?

the only meds I have recently started taking which are different from any other of my meds is estrobalance, but I wouldn't of thought that would cause this.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Amy

Maybe the problem is not your hands but your "sniffer".?? I am slowly losing my sense of smell and the things I do smell are way off. Sometimes I think I smell like dirty feet even after a shower and all my smellies on. My daughter and hubby assure me I do not smell like dirty feet. Most of the time everything smells like dirty feet, cat box or burnt wood. None of my doctors can figure out why. I was told the only way (usually) that a person loses their smell is by blunt force to the head and that has never happened to me?

I have notice myself that I have become sensitive to smells. I will get on a smell and it will drive me crazy. Seems like others around me don't bother or smell it.

My fingers and nails smells like garlic and sometimes like MSG ( you know, food ingredient ); I have aminoacidopathy and elevated serum and urin glycine and alanine and glutamine, and my doctor thinks I have some peculliar metabolic disorder; I have nauseas too, connected with those finger smell ( right before, during, or right after nausea ... not all the time ). I don't have olfactory halucinations, because other people noticed my finger/nails smell too!

And for the last 2 years my nauseas became so strong and almost 24/; and I noticed that I had stronger smell like garlic and nauseas after eating meal or fish ( animal protein )... my doctors knows that, but they don't know why! Or they doesn't care, because "it isn't serious" - because they think it is metabolic disorder but they don't know which one, because I'm the only one who have this problem. I could live with that nail and fingertips small, but it is really difficult for me to go to work because I throw up and I'm nauseated almost 24/7, and during that time I feel very weak and have tremor and I feel so bad that I just want to stay at home in bed ... and I'm almost hyperactive person and I like go out! I made so much test ... and aminoacidopathy and aminoacidury and metabolic disorder are my diagnosis, but still I don't have answers why and solution for my nauseas ...

But 2 days ago, I read something about CFS and hands smell like garlic and gluten intolerance - I don't have gluten intolerance, but maybe there's some carbohydrate metabolism disorder - and I don't eat carbs for last 48 hours , and my fingers/nails smell like garlic and MSG are gone! And I'm a little less nauseated ( app.70% less nauseated ), but I'm hungry ... I have to make my new food regime; and I've just made appointment with my endocrinologist next friday ...

I found this at the Livestrong site about skin smelling like garlic.

I don't think it's your imagination.
