Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone else with FM gets the "shakes". I'm having a bad day, even on 450mg Lyrica a day, and along with my whole body aching I have really bad shakes. When I tried to get out of bed this morning my whole body was shaking like crazy. Even my eyes are shaking now when I'm trying to read as I type. I can't seem to hold anything in my hands. Its normal for me to have these shakes and I've asked my doc about it and she said it was not FM related but I think it is. So I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. Thanks...

I get a bit shaky if I go too long without eating, but otherwise no. Especially your eyes shaking, that would greatly disturb me. It disturbs me just to read that! Have you read all the fine print of the side effects of all the medications you are taking? I would start there, then gather all your medications & talk to a pharmacist to double-check that everything you take is safe to use together, and include even your over the counter medications and supplements
46F, Fibromyalgia, Vitamin D deficiency, allergies/multiple chemical sensitivities, possible Chronic Fatigue & occasional IBS symptoms.

I take vitamins, Tramadol for pain, Flexeril as needed.

Hi applevenus. Thanks for the reply. I've had this for years, before I even started the meds. Some days its ok but days like today its crazy. Its soooo anoying, its like my whole body is trembling and I get a few big twitches every so often, its the twitches that make me drop what ever I'm holding. Since I've started taking the meds its got a lot better, along with the usual pains and aches. But some days both the pain and shakes come back in force... Thanks again applevenus.

I get the shakes sometimes. Usually its because I havent eaten, but sometimes they precede a panic attack, and sometimes theres no obvious cause at all. Kind of feels like I have a fine tremor throughout my entire body, even my organs shake. Its disconcerting, thats for sure, and a pain in the butt.

Mine is more of an internal shaking sometimes in my limbs, sometimes I feel it inside my head. I have mentioned it to my doctor a few times. He did blood tests nothing showed. I'm do for them again. It has been a year. Maybe it does have something to do with nerves and panic attacks because if I take an occasional xanax when it is real noticeable it goes away.

I get this sometimes but not very often. Watch to see if what you eat or drink causes the shakes. See if eating sugar or drinking caffiene causes the shakes.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone, its good to know I'm not the only one. Jaden and sawa, that is it exactly. Its like everything is trembling, internally and externally. I keep meaning to keep a food diary, I know for sure that too much sugar and dairy makes me suffer from really bad IBS type symptoms. I love chocolate but I have to stay away from it or else... Argghhh, will I ever get used to having FM? sad

I tried switching to "I can't believe it's not butter" and developed the shakes - went to the doctor and he prescribed some medicine which hubby didn't want me to take. but I was shaking so bad I couldn't drive. I kept going over in my mind what I had just switched to or started eating or laundry/soap, etc.... the butter was the only thing different, so I stopped using it and I stopped shaking. very strange, I have never had a reaction like that before to foods or anything.

Looking back at my old journals since 2003, shaking was one of my main complaint. This was how I described it then "whole body shakiness, even my insides felt shaky". I get some months relief, and then it comes back, it is like one of the symptoms of fibro that waxes and wane.

Unfortunately, I am having some shakiness now, my insides felt like want go inside out! Huh, what a crazy feeling! I would like to blame the shakiness to the acid bloker I am taking for over 5wks now, but shouldn't I have build up a tolerance for the side effects considering the length of time I am using it??
