Hello everyone,
I have an odd question. I have HepC. I was diagnosed 5-6 years ago. Not under any doctors care right now because I have no insurance. For about 2 weeks I have been noticing some things going on. the most important for me is that I seem to be having alot of trouble with my short term memory. So much so that I was written up at work for something little that I know better but just forgot. My boss said I don't know what is wrong with you but you need to figure it out. By the way she does know about my condition. I have been having more pain in my right side than usual. I guess I am scared and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts. Not much to go on I know. Is there anything I can be looking for? I haven't slept through the night for some time but that may be because my son that I live with is moving to Texas in a week and I ahve to admit that I am terrified to be left in this state alone. I keep wondering what will happen if I become reeally sick. Sorry, guess I am having a pity party. Hope you all understand. More later

Hello Pasey, So sorry that you are having some problems. And that you have a stupid boss. She needs to cut you some slack.
My husband usually had a memory like an elephant but he did start showing some signs of short term memory loss. I believe that it may be part of the disease. Your ammonia levels maybe rising. And that pain on your right side could be gallstones. But the pain is normally very sharp and can drop you to your knees. At least mine did . But my husband's didn't.. People with liver disease can develop gallstones. Problems sleeping at night is a classic symptom too. Pasey do you have any other family near where you live? If you don't you really need to consider moving to be close to family. This is a very hard disease to manage alone.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Hi Pasey, My husband has had problems with his short term memory for a while now. It has been progressively getting worse over the last couple of years. Stress can also cause memory problems.

I agree with Pink Grandma about managing the disease on your own. You really need people that care around.

You will be in my prayers.
There is always hope!

Hi Pasey, I just wanted to suggest that there may be a clinic to go to if you have no insurance, so that you can have tests done and possibly rx written to help you. You can also contact the companies for any rx that you may get for help with getting them delivered to your door at no charge. This might help relieve some of your symptoms so that you are able to do your job and also, relieve some stress from worrying, which will help you sleep better. Good luck and welcome!
I am not sure where I am going, but I sure know where I've been!

Hello: Pasey, Your boss probably has no idea what the symptoms of liver disease are . Don't think people know any thing about it until it strikes. My husband told me my memory had been getting worse for the past three years. But liver disease was never suspected because I was under Dr.s care for hypertention and he had me get tested every month for the past 25 years. My LFT's were always within range. Did'nt find out I was sick till I ended up in sort of a coma in hospital. They then gave me tests and still could'nt figure out what was wrong with me. Six months later they did a biopsy . So here I am waiting for the next symptom, next doctor, next anything. Try to keep up the healthy eating and yuccy lactulose. Keep Posting june
