Sorry I haven't been on the site much in the past weekbut I did make time to post a few lines. My 85 yo father got the flu and was really ill. He called and could barely talk so of course I drove over to Tampa (4 hrs away) and took care of him. He is such a sweetheart and he has been thru alot since my moms illness and eventual death. As many of you know he was the primary caregiver for almost a year. It has definately taken a toll on him. Anyway, he is a little better now and able to get around more so I came home. I feel a little guilty about leaving him. I have offered for him to come here and live but he wants to be in his own house and near his friends so I support that with all my heart. So I'm home now and hope all is well with my healing well friends.

Shelly I am so glad that your dad is on the mend. Got to give him Kudos......being 85 and still living on his own. I hope that I am that lucky.
You were missed. Glad to have you back........Rest up and take care.

Go Shelly & Grandpa! You are a wonderful daughter to respect your father's wishes and care for him so. I am in a similar position - Dad is in Venice recovering from a stroke. Yes, Dan's - I agree, the greateast generation! My Dad served in WWII.

Welcome back Shelly - we missed you & need your expertise!

Hi, Shelly! Good to have you back, and glad your dad is doing better. My aunt in Sarasota, who just turned 81, was hospitalized about 5 weeks ago with CHF--first-time cardiac problem. It's taken her awhile to "bounce back," but she's at home and doing much better now. She's in a wheelchair, but lives alone. Another niece and niece's husband live right next door. My aunt has been more of a mother to me than my own mother was, so we have always been very close. I'd like to try to get down there to visit her sometime this year...it's been awhile.

Hugs,
Connie

Well, now as of this morning I feel like I have the flu. Headache, muscles ache, stomach upset, and loose stools. Brother; when it rains it pours. I'm just going to rest and treat the symptoms. Not much else I can do.

Hi everyone, I have felt fine today so I guess it may have been a mild case of food poisoning rather than the flu. I'm just glad I am back to my old ornery self again. Thanks for the well wishes.
