I would like some feedback from anyone here that has had a liver transplant.  What your MELD score was when you received a liver.  How sick were you when you got a liver etc.  My concern is how much the human body can take and still go through the surgery.  I'm sure the surgery is major and how bad can the body be and still survive the surgery.  I would appreciate any info.  Thank you

Joann I have not had a transplant but a friend of mine did 2 yrs ago and he was days from passing away. Been in the hospital for months totally wasting away. Meld was in the 30 range or more was actually back in the workforce 2 months later he only had one issue with rejection drugs and they tweeked that. I have never seen him look better.

They told my mother she wasnt bad enough for a transplant 2 months before she died, she never got the chance to even go to the eval. By the time she was bad enough they said she was too sick to even get a transplant let alone survive the surgery. So press on and push for the transplant now before it is too late!
