hi, i have been here a few weeks ago , and was talking about my husband and his cirrhosis, in the past few weeks he has at least 3 days every week that he can't get out of bed for more than 15 minutes at a time and he needs to go lay back down. he usually has a good appetite but lately he eats hlf of what he was. he has been getting a lot of these big purple spots on him and blood spots in his eyes and purple spots on his eyelids. he seems to have trouble focusing sometimes. i really am afraid to leave him alone, but i need to work at least 2 days a week. he is a deinker but i have seen a decrease in his drinking the last couple weeks. he is so sick and i am beginning to be afraid for him. his bilirubin was 8 total and this was 2 months ago. we haven't been back to his hepatologist for awhile because he isn't a candidate for transplant because of drinking and mitral regurgitation from endocarditis
so there wasn't much they could do except if he got infection. i really needed to talk today , i have been depresses and sometimes it helps. he has been pushing me away from him not wanting me to hover. and that hurts. thank you for listening. bluebird

Hi Bluebird, I am so sorry to hear about your husband and I totally relate to you!  Mine has the same desease and is pretty sick too and I know just how you feel about leaving them alone, mine has lost over 40lbs. in the last month and I really try to get him to eat but with not much avail.  Please know that there are lot's of us out here anytime you need to talk. My prayer's are with you,

Judith

thank you judith, i guess its hard to talk to anyone who does not deal with this, what is hard is that i know i am losing him , and it is hard to deal with it on some days.especially when he is so sick. i bet that you also have days like that . my husband is also very thin the only thing on him that's big is his stomach. my prayers are with you also. bluebird

Geez, I know exactly how you feel!  Watching them go through this is so heart breaking for all of us and you are right, the only weight on my husband is his stomach too, we are hoping he will make the transplant list but he has to attend A.A. meeting's through July and then they will re-evaluate him, that is our only hope and I just pray he make's it that long. This forum really help's,
