hello everyone,
i just wanted to give an update.  it has been 1 wk to the day that hospice told me that my husband would only have a few wks. well today he is doing worse.  he has been sleeping alot, and if he is awake he is confused.  they told me that uping his lactulose is not an option, it won't help, my heart jst continues to break sad    he had a few good days last week where is was eating really well and then on friday he kinda took another turn for the worse.  my family and friends have been here all week and my grandmother has been staying the nights w/me and the kids.  between her and my sister-in-law they have sure been a blessing.  he is starting to swell pretty bad in the abdominal area and they decided to cath him today.  i didn't realize that with this disease that the stomach would get hard.  has anyone experienced this?  i really got scared last night and called the nurse on call, she came out and told me that this is just the process of the disease.  i am having a hard time grasping this....

don't know when i will get back on, just wanted to keep you in the loop.

thoughts and prayers,
michele

((((Michele)))),

You still have everyone's thoughts and prayers......especially mine. This part of the journey, through this devastating disease was by far the hardest. But you can get through it. Keep telling your husband how very much you love him. Even if you don't think that he will understand. Believe me they do. Hang in there........

Michelle

You and yours are in my prayers.  And yes my husband's stomach was hard before they started tapping it, that was one of the things that told me something was wrong.

Praying

Michele, I am so sorry to hear that Lee has taken a turn for the worse.  Is Hospice coming to the house?  It's good that you have support from family right now.  The liver can turn hard and if there is unrelieved ascites, the abdomen can distend so much that it feels hard.

My thoughts and prayers are with you for the strength to get through these hard times.

Hugs,

Connie

Hi michele,

I'm sorry. My heart goes out to you.

Broken-heartedly, John
I have to get up the creek! Now where's that paddle?
Mind-fogged again.
