Hello everyone, sorry it's been awhile since I have written anything, but my husband has been sick alot and last monday he had a gastric bleed from the varacies and had to have a t.i.p.s procedure done. He had a stint put in the right side of his heart and had to be on plavix and aspirin for a month in order to qualify for transplant and almost 2 weeks into taking them he had the bleed now he is fighting for his life and is having a real bad problem with his memory i know what its called but forgot how to spell it (sorry) and they are giving him lactolouse for it but they have to keep stopping it for other reasons and then restarting it again, but the drs say if he can remain stable with no more bleeding  for a week they will list him and get him transplanted as soon as possible, we need your prayers that he will get through this and get his transplant, I know ya'll dont realy know us but please pray for my husband, for he is my world and if anyone has ever experienced this before or know of someone who has please let me know. Well its getting late so im gonna try and get some sleep and I hope everyone on here is well and doing fine. Thanks for listening.  Take Care, Mary

Mary, you and your husband certainly have my prayers.  I know there are those here who have experienced what your husband now is going through, or whose husbands have.

Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

Edited to add:  The confusion/memory loss is encephalopathy.   wink

Hugs,
Connie

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Mary}}}}}}}}}}}}}   cry    I am so, so sorry.  Mourn now for the loss, but also please find peace in knowing that he is no longer suffering, and also that you were there at the end and both of you were able to reaffirm your love for each other.

Please come back to the forum when you are up to it.  You can find so much support here, and down the road you can be of great help to someone else going through what you have, and are now.  You will never be alone here.

Mary

I have not been on the forum for over a week but wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.  I hope you can find the strength to get through this difficult time.  My husband is also on the transplant list.  I wish there was something else I could say to help get you through this but I don't know what it could be.  You and your family are in my prayers tonight.

Hello, I took my friend to the hospital 2 weeks ago. They diagnosed her with cirrhosis (alcoholic) Her bilirubin count stays around 25.5. My question is do the complications and symptoms correspond with the stages of this disease?

Hello April20 and welcome to the forum. The answer is yes...As the disease progresses more symptoms appear........

Read over some of our older posts. I'll try and bump some of the educational ones up for you.
