Pink Grandma, I hope your back gets better soon. I have had back problems in the past and know that they are no fun.

PG, you take it easy!  We will muddle through here.  Have you tried moist heat?  If there's no improvement by tomorrow, I hope you will see a doctor...or a chiropracter.

Hugs,
Connie

Thanks guys, I tried to go to work today lasted 3 hours and had to hang it up and go to the doctor..........I didn't damage my spine yeah Just the muscles. So says the xrays. They gave me a shot of something that started with a T that I could drive with. Said it would take 15 minutes.........more like an hour....but it finally kicked in. Just starting to wear off .........about 10 hours later. shakehead Least I finally got a few hours sleep this after noon.

That's what the doctor said Cary.....rotate the hot and cold. And yes Connie I did try the moist heat. I bought some desposible moist heat pads that lasted almost 20 hours. Also a back pad that you can put in the freezer or microwave. While I was at it I bought a new plug in moist heating pad. I think I went over-board a little. I was desperate.

It seems I always learn the hard way about getting older. My body has to remind me every now and then that I shouldn't be doing certain things.nono No more trying to move furniture for me anymore.

Thanks again everyone...........

Me, too, PG.  wink

Keep using the things you bought and continue to take it easy until the pain subsides.

I still tend to overdo it also. My back went out a few years ago just by lifting my leg to put my pants on. I still don't know what I did to bring it on but it was the worst pain I ever experienced in my life. Even over child birth. Now the slightest twinge scares me.

Take care!

PG

a little late readig the posts but I hope your back is feeling better. I have had a bad back for years and been in so much pain I really don't feel it anymore except when I strain it or something. Funny how severe back pain i don't really feel anymore but I moan and groan over the muscle aches I have with this disease.

Thanks everyone....my back is starting to feel better. I least I am walking and sleeping better now. Mary I think that I am going to go in for a massage once I am completely healed. That sounds so good.

Karen you have a good reason to moan and groan. This disease is one ugly monster but it can be managed by eating right, taking your meds properly, getting a little exercise and plenty of rest.........even that ucky o'l lactulose serves a good purpose.

Connie and Butterfly, hoping you both feeling okay tonight.

Thoughts and prayers to all.....

Hi, PG!  So glad to hear that you are feeling somewhat better.  It does take a little time when the back is strained like that.

I'm "okay."  Been having a pain in the upper left quadrant that I've had for a long time (nothing ever shows up on MRI or CT), but has been worse the past two days.  Am thinking of making a hepatology appt., although I'm not due to see her until Jan.

Hugs,
Connie

Hi Connie, better safe than sorry........go ahead and make the appointment. Remember it is your health care. Don't care what anyone else thinks. Old school days .....you grinned and bared it.......now a days you take control and go to the doctor talk with him and decide on your own health care.

I'd rather my doctor think me a hypochondriac and go unnecessarily a few times than not go when I should have.

Hope your day goes well ..........thoughts and prayers......

Hi Pink Grandma, I am also glad that you are feeling better. I am doing pretty good. There are days I get down in the dumps, but I do my best to pull myself out. Today I have been feeling good, although somewhat overwhelmed. I live with a bunch of pigs that don't know how to do anything so my house is always a total wreck. Pigs sounds awful but that is the closest thing I could think to compare them to.

Connie, I agree with Pink Grandma. I think you should go ahead and make that appointment. I'm sure you will. I don't take you as a person to take chances. I hope the pain gets better.

You are both in my prayers.

Yep, will call the doctor for appt., if I can figure out when I can get there.  I have 3 other medical appts. coming up and need to make appt. for yearly mammogram.  Everything hits at once, it seems.  The pain has eased up today, though.

Hugs,
Connie
