Hi all,
I have been on Imuran for a little over 2 months now.  Got thru the side effect of feeling like throwing up all the time. But I can't seem to get past the fatigue.  I am only on 50mg and they want me on 150mg.
I have no energy now, I can't imagine what 150mg would do to me.
Going to Dr next week. I am so fed up with this. I just want some energy to get some things done.  I felt fine on the pred only, they put me on Imuran to get me off pred. I never thought I'd say just leave me alone on pred.
I know, I am just rambling.... grrrrr......

Hi, Rhonda!  It's okay to just vent.  As I recall, you have autoimmune hepatitis, which is why you are on the Imuran and were on prednisone.  I'm fatigued all the time from hep C, so I can relate to that.  And I can tell you that the side effects from prednisone are awful, including osteonecrosis (bone death) of the large joints, requiring joint replacement, and also stress fractures of the spine.  So I hope you will be able to tolerate the Imuran.

Hi Rhonda

I can completely understand about the fatigue and side effects from the imuran, but I can tell you it took me about six months before I could feel the benefits from it and the "abnormal fatigue", nausea, and hair loss subsided. After the first two months things began to slowly improve. I am only on 50mg's of imuran and still on the pred too although it was lowered after the first six months and things stabllized. Just wanted you to know that it can get better and I do understand what you are going through. I hope you too can get through this rough spot. Will keep positive thoughts for you and let us know how things are going.
