Has anyone here had experience with shots to help produce red blood. Jerry's transfusions are coming about every 10 days so Vanderbilt wants to put him on shots.  Also Blood showing up in stool.  Is this part of the disease or does it mean there is something else going on.  He has an appointment on Monday to schedule a colonoscopy. Also he still has two spots on his legs that I am 100% sure are infected.  Other then that he's in great shape!!  Thank you for all your info.  God knows we aren't going to get it from a Dr.

JoAnn, blood in stool is not normal, so they need to find out where it is coming from.  I know that there are injections to increase RBC/platelet count.  When he is seen on Mon., be sure to have them look at the suspicious spots on his legs.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
