haven't been available to read much or post anything in the past few months, but wanted to let you know that my mother, who just found out she has cirrhosis in September, is at a hospice center in kentucky awaiting death. never made the transplant list, which really stinks; and they wouldn't do a living donor transplant, because they said she needed a whole liver-which stinks even more. you guys are fantastic, and i appreciate the prayers. i will try to catch-up, and keep reading posts, and definitely will remember you in prayer. it's a crappy disease that hurts very much. i don't have to tell anyone how i feel. you all know.

{{{{Susan}}}  I am so sorry about your mom.  Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.  Please post whenever you like, just to vent if need be.

Susan

I am saddened to hear about the progression of the disease with your mom. Hospice is a wonderful organization and I hope that they will be of help to not only your mom but for you also. This is a horrid disease and please know that my thoughts and prayers go with you.

Dear Susan,

So sorry to hear your news.   It is a nasty disease and yes, I think most of us can put ourselves in your shoes and understand how hard this is.   When there's hope for transplant, that helps.   Once that is gone, the disease is still there, but the hope is not.   We are all going through our own story with this, I hope you'll keep coming back and writing.   It helps me.

Take care,

Joan

Hello Sue,  I am sorry that your mom isn't doing better.  Lucy is absolutely right.......hospice is a wonderful organization.   So she couldn't be in better hands at this point.   I was so impressed with the hospice here that I plan to volenteer with them when I retire or when my life slows down some .....which ever comes first.

You're right....all of us know what a horrible disease this is.  The toll that it takes on the patient and family is horrendous.  But that's why we are all here.......to support and help each other through it.

Take care.......thoughts and prayers.........

Susan, I am so sorry to hear that your mother is not eligible for transplantation. I can only imagine how you are feeling now. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.
