Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if it's safe to take Oil of Oregano capsules? I've been hearing so much about this natural immune booster/ antibiotic and am considering trying it. But I want to make sure that it won't affect my liver in a negative way (I have chronic Hep B). I'm waiting for my Hepatologist to get back to me. Any ideas?

Hi, RK, and welcome to the hepatitis forum.  I see you have posted on the Crohn's forum.

Personally, I've never heard of Oil of Oregano, but as a hep C patient who has survived liver cancer, I can tell you that I wouldn't take any supplement w/o my hepatologist's okay.  Supplements do not have regulation, so there is no consistent dosage and also there can sometimes be contamination which will adversely affect a person.  Do some research and then present it to your doctor and see what he thinks.
