Been a while so thought I'd see how everyone is doing. See we have some newbies...WELCOME! Been feeling like crap again, the usual aches, fatigue so tired, can't sleep. Have been trying to get things done. Have 1 son graduating from high school (barely) but he did it or will June 5th. Have my baby (17 on the 9th of June) spending hours on top of hours with his girlfriend of almost 2 years, of course that's when he is not practicing or playing a sport. He has been helping redecorating "their" house. But he still comes home ,wakes me up to say "goodnight mommy", "I love you !"

For those who don't know me, I have Hep C of course, ESLD,cirrhosis, encephalopathy, varices etc etc. Went for transplant eval last Aug and then 4 months later was told not to worry about a transplant at the moment and that in June we would instead start treatment. Was feeling great for about 7 months, then POOF, feel like crap again. So I see my primary on the first and get blood tests and then see Dr Frenette (for those who might have her or Dr Gish on the West Coast) and decide about the hep c treatment. You know I read so much info at the beginning of all this, my brain went into overload, so any and all comments and or sugestions to get ready fro treatment would be greatly appreciated.
I also want to take this time to tell you all how greatful I am for all of you. Your loving and caring immediate friendship has meant so much. I hope to be able to help someone in some small way. Well take care everyone. I am very tired tonight. Going to bed.

Hello Karen, Glad you checked in. Sorry that you are not feeling well.
You son sounds like most teens. But for him to come home and tell you "good night mommy and I love you" tells me that he a special son even if he is spending most of his time with his girlfriend.
So when will you be going to CPMC? I drove by it a couple of months ago. First time since my husband was there last. It was the last hurdle for me. Shed a few tears and then went to the beach.

I can give any advice about the treatment as my husband never did have it. So are they going to do that new treatment that's supposed to be easier to take and a lot shorter duration?

Take care..........thoughts and prayers........

Karen, it's good to hear from you!  I can really relate to all the fatigue.  It's been really bad lately, yet my blood work and CT scan last month were okay.  I'm kind of holding out for the new treatment that will supposedly be available in 2010...same as the combo, but with a 3rd drug added, and you only have to be on it for 24 weeks.  So we'll see.
