Okay everyone, this thread is for some of our members that have not posted in a while. I just went through a lot of our older posts and noticed that we have members that are MIA. I know that life with liver disease gets very stressed and busy. But if you can, please post a few sentences and let us know how you and your loved ones are doing. If you think that we have forgotten you ..........your mistaken. You are beening missed.........

Thoughts and prayers to all...........

Hi Pink Grandma,

It has been a long time since I posted and has been a very stressful time.  We had to deal with my husband's prostate cancer and surgery (thank god he is doing well).  My autoimmune hepatitis was in remission for about a year and now it is up and down no matter what I do.  I had some heart issues about a month ago and ended up in ICU after a heart catherization and some major bleeding.  Appartently the medication the heart doctor gave me for the angina has caused my liver levels to rise once again.  I recently weaned down to 5mg and sure enough up they went I have now decided to stop the heart medicine and go back to 10mg.  I am also taking 1200mg of ursodiol which was to help protect the liver since I cannot take Imuran but appartenly that is doing nothing.  This on the advice from Dr Schiff the liver expert at the Center for liver deiase in Miami.  I am very depressed and not sure what to do at this point when I stop all medication my heart issues act up when I take them my liver issues come back.  Anyone else dealing with heart and liver issues?

Jerry, welcome back!  You might want to post as a New Topic so everyone will see it.

I had a heart scare about 6 mos. ago.  Started having SOB and rapid heart beat just walking about half a block.  I went to a cardiovascular doc at Mayo and he diagnosed it as "deconditioning."  Basically not getting enough exercise the past 6 years due to multiple back-to-back major surgeries.  He took me off Norvasc for BP and put me on Toprol.  That has taken care of the tachycardia, at least.  My liver enzyme levels have not been affected by this new med, but all medications act differently and the same med can behave differently in a different person.

Maybe someone else here has had a similar experience as you, so do start a New Topic.

I sure hope that they get your heart problems and hep straightened out soon.
