To our members:  Some of you may know that my co-moderator, Pink Grandma, has a brother who is very ill with liver disease.  She called me today to let me know that she is with him and that he is not doing well at all.  Therefore, she suggested I contact Shelly to help out here on the forum while she is with her brother.  I am moving next week, so my time is also limited right now.

For those who don't know Shelly, her mother died of liver disease, so she's been in the caretaker role.  She wrote much of the educational material in Hepatitis Resources.  She is an RN and very knowledgeable, so you can be comfortable in her responses.

Thanks, Shelly, for pitching in and helping us in our time of need!

Hugs,
Connie

Hi to all the members on the forum. I hope I will be able to help a little bit while our wonderful moderators deal with the issues that are ahead of them. As Connie said, my mom died from liver cancer in 07. I joined the forum in a very desperate frame of mind. I felt that I had saved possibly hundreds of lives as a nurse and yet I couldn't save my own mother. I was depressed and confused. When I joined HW everyone was so kind and helped me deal with everything up to and including my moms death. Their words of wisdom and comfort will never be forgotten. As a consequence of their helpfulness I decided to try to stay on the site and help others if I could. I know how much it means to have people to talk to when your life is upside down. There are so many members who are very knowlegdable about liver disease that will be adding their own experiences and wisdom to new members while Connie and PG are away from the site. Thank you in advance for the input our members will be giving to help out.
I am working full time in my husbands office so if there is a delay in responding to questions or comments please be patient with me.
