Hello June, I am sorry that you are in pain and not sleeping well. I know that their are meds out there that are less harmful to the damaged liver than others.........Google pain meds for liver disease, or something like that. If you find anything write it down and ask your Hepatologist about it.

Hope your feeling better today.........thoughts and prayers.........

June,  Where is your pain? You may want to ask your DR. about percocet, it does contain tylenol so when the Dr. gives it to me I only take a low dose. My G.I. (hepatologist) told me oonly take 4 tylenol a day if I need it,so I'm very careful with my meds.I dont want to cause more damage. When your in pain try to move in a different position, I have alot more pain if I lay on my left side. My pain is right across my upper abd.,just under my ribs. I hope changing positions help.

Make sure to call your Dr.

Take care,

DeeDee

June, you might also ask about the possibility of Darvon (NOT Darvocet.)  Darvon does not have added an NSAID, which is what they most object to.

Hugs,

Connie

Thanks Pink Grandma and deedee, I have an appointment scheduled this month for a scan and bloodwork .I believe they also said an EKG.
I used to have liver pain on my right side because of the huge incision they left after gallbladder. then about two years later it would alway hurt for a week or two after i Lifted anthing, stretched to high, pushed or pulled something I would get that pain on my side.
I finally went to my Dr. and he sent me for an MRI He said it was onlly scar tissue from the surgery and many people. Now the found three metal staples that were left behind . I know those ones wont disolve.
I do wonder though if they along with all the meds I was taking for pain, I am only allowed half a tylenol
Mypain now is not from the liver. I have osteoarthritis;degenerative disk disease and osteoperoses. So my bodly lhurts sometimes feet, knees wrists neck some time my finger nails feel as is I just smashed
Luckly it not everywhere at the same, '''so pain gives a breaklllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllljune

I take mega dose of calcium and vitimin D as Prescribed. I also go for a Reclast infusion once a year that's sort of like taking that weekly or monthly pill most, take for osteoperosis. I just reread the
posts and Deedee recommended percoset. I HAVE alot of that left over from my foot surgery. Foot Dr. knew about my liver condition. I'll ask my hepatologist if it is OK to take that.

****My husband has the flu now . So I have to stay away from him. I stoppin my posting for today.
