My hubby went through the chemoembolization procedure 4 days ago and has been doing well.  I don't know if he overdid his activites but today, his abdomen is very distended.  He's not in any pain but he feels like is stomach is going to "pop".  He takes lactolose and also took a laxative today but his stomach is still very large and hard.  I called the doctor and they said if he doesn't have a fever or any actual pain, to wait until Monday and bring him in.  Has anyone experienced this after chemoembolization?  Does this sound serious?  His color is good, he's just uncomfortable and his abdomen hasn't been distended like this in over three years.  This just started today.
Thank you,

Linda, does he take diuretics?  If so, he could try increasing them a little and see if that helps.  I don't recall my stomach becoming distended after chemoembolization--only not feeling well about 3 or 4 days later and having some pain.  He should take it easy tonight and tomorrow and see how he's feeling by Mon. A.M.
