To those of you who have had chemoembolization, did you have much hair loss?  My hubby had the procedure done on April 6 and his hair has been thinning rapidly over the past few days.  He went and got a haircut yesterday but he's wondering how much more is going to fall out.  Is this common with chemoembolization?  Other than a few days of stomach upset, he's been feeling OK.

Thanks, Linda

Good morning Linda,   My husband had hair loss also.  He had baby fine hair to begin with so it was apparent to me at first that he was losing hair.  He didn't go bald or anything it just thinned it out some.  But during that time we had other things to worry about and I never did mention it to him and I don't know it he ever realised that he had some hair loss from the chemoembolization.  He did get pretty sick from it though.  I remember calling the transplant corrdinator a number of times after it.

Glad that yours is feeling better.   Thoughts and prayers.......

Hi, Linda!  I personally didn't notice any hair loss after the one chemoembolization treatment I had, nor after the TheraSphere treatment.  Like PG's hubby, I just may not have noticed as I was focused so much on combating the cancer.  The important thing is that the treatment is effective, and if it is, then it's worth losing a little hair!

Hugs,

Connie

Thank you for the response.  This is the first time he's had a shorter haircut in four years and he actually looks better today than he did a month ago.  He knows he needs the chemo but was just wondering what to expect because it was falling out a lot in the last few days.  The haircut made him look ten years younger.  Transplant evaluation on the 26th of this month!  We are praying he gets approved.

Thank you,
Linda
