hi, my husband has hepatitis c and i am looking for support.  he was stage 3 about six years ago and i'm worried that it may be starting to take it's toll on him.  he's tried treatment with inferon twice and it's worse than the disease and did not help.  just feel sometimes like i'm all alone in this with him.  neither one of us have anyone who understands.  thanks for listening.

Hi Danaw, I know how you feel my husband has hep c and cirrohsis. He has tried treatments 3 different times too. He may go for a 4th treatment and i know the drugs are as bad as the hep or worse.I'll keep you and your husband in my prayers hang in there i know it's tough i'll probably need some support myself if he decides to try treatment again because he was very difficult to live with while on meds. ((((((((((HUGS)))))))

My husband has known he has hep c for about 4 years.  He did the PegIntron therapy for about 15 months and failed.  About 6 months ago, he got on an experimental trial of daily interferon and ribavirin.  Initially, he responded very well, but we found out a few days ago that he fell out of protocol.  Basically, we are just waiting for the next best thing to come along.  He had an acute exacerbation of some form of Hepatitis while working as a Corpsman in 1979 on a medicine ward (yes, there were plenty of Vietanam vets with hepatitis- and no he didn't always wear gloves).  Since  he doesn't have Hep A antibodies, his current doctor suspects that was Hep C.  He had a biopsy 4 y/ago and that showed stage 3.  I'm just looking for a forum that I can come to occasionally and get some support.  It is hard to find.  Everybody I know either says, "You don't have it, what's your problem" or "Everything will be okay".  Am I in the right place?  If not, I'm open to suggestions.  Thanks.
