I was just wondering I'd after treatment and if not detected can we give blood or organs?

Just a thought. Thank you.

No, you won't be able to donate blood, not with respect to current testing anyway. Blood is tested via antibody screening. You, I and everyone else who has attained SVR will always test positive for antibodies...for the rest of our lives. Antibody screening is cheap and easy, RNA - viral load testing is quite expensive. Last time I looked it was close to about $435 cash via Labcorp.

I'm not sure about the process of organ donation. I know that hep c positive organs are sometimes transplanted, so I suspect that organs from successfully treated hep c patients would be sought...given the long waiting lists...but I don't know any details re: the process.
