I'm thinking of trying the treatment for hep c again.

Is there anyone out there who finished the treatment?

Hi bucci
I did 14 weeks so far I'm genotype 2B. viral load was 8 million 900 because of my genotype they told me 24 weeks so 10 more left. Just went to the docs and found out that my viral load was undetected and my alt and ast is normal. my wbc is down though I'm not feeling to well today. I hear good things about the pegasys and the pegatron/ ribapak thats what I take. I would try it again, I know a guy that is going to he did the inferon and he didn't respond.

WOW! THAT IS GREAT NEWS!

THE FIRST TIME I DID IT THE VIRUS WAS UNDETECTABLE IN 8 WEEKS AND IN 10 WEEKS
MY DOCTOR TOOK ME OFF BECAUSE MY THYROID WENT BEZERK AND WHITE AND WHOLE BLOOD WAS TOO LOW

ALSO I HAVE OTHER ENDOCRINE PROBLEMS LIKE PRE DIABETIC AND HIGH RHUMATOIDAL FACTORS AND LOW CORTISOL LEVELS
FROM THE TREATMENT.
BUT I THINK I AM A GOOD RESPONDER GENO TYPE AND MAYBE ONLY HAVE TO GO 24 WEEKS. I JUST DON'T KNOW IF MY SYSTEM CAN HANDLE IT.
LIVER DOC IS THIS WEEK SO I WILL SEE.

YOU GUYS HAVIN ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Hello,
So are you saying that once you were undetected that it came back?

On the side effects. I still have the ache stuff for the first few days. Lots of motrin.... :-)

Now the thinning of the hair and fatigue and forgetting a lot....

HI EILEEN,

YES, WHEN I DID TREATMENT BEFORE I STARTED WITH 9 MILL VIRAL LOAD.

BY THE 8TH WEEK IT WAS UNDETECTABLE. MY DOCTOR KNEW IT WOOULD COME
BACK IF I DIDN'T STAY ON LONGER SO I KEPT DOING SHOTS BUT BY THE 10TH
WEEK ALL MY NUMBERS FELLL TOO LOW AND SHE WANTED ME TO STOP AND GO ON
NEUPROGINE AND PROCRIT SHOTS TO BRING BLOOD BCK UP. BUT MY THYROID WENT
EXTREMELY HYPER. WHEN IT GOES HYPER THERE REALLY IS NO MEDS.

SO I WALKED AWAY FOR A YEAR JUST TRYING TO GET MYSELF STABALIZED..

I DRANK WHEAT GRASS AND THAT HELPED BRING MY NUMBERS BACK UP.

SO KNOW I AM THINKING OF GOING BACK ON TREATMENT BECAUSE I CAN NOT
REALLY GET UP AND AROUND. I'M FLATTENED OUT.

BUT NOT SURE IF IT IS THE VIRUS OR SEVERE ADRENAL INSUFFINCY.

SO I'M IN THIS CHAT ROOM TRYING TO FIND PEOPLE WHO FINISHED THE TREATMENT
AND HEAR WHAT THEIR ENERGY IS LIKE AFTER TREATMENT.
A LOT OF PEOPLE I HEAR ARE ACHE AND TIRED.
I'M WONDERING IF I SHOULD RISK BECOMING DIABETIC, BLOWING OUT MY THYROID
AGAIN PLUS SMASHINM MY ADRENALS EVEN MORE WITH THE TREATMENT IS
GOING TO LEAVE ME FEELING THE SAME OR WORSE EVEN AFTER THE TREATMENT..

SEEMS THOUGH LIKE IA LOT OF PEOPLE CHECK INTO THE SITE BUT DON'T WRITE IN.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING. ARE YOU DOING THE PROCRIT AND NEUPRIGIN SHOTS.

MY DOCTOR IS MELISSA PALMER IN PLAINVIEW NY.

WHERE ARE YOU?

EILEEN,

WOW! YOU WORK AND HAVE 2 KIDS.
AND ARE ON THE TREATMENT?

I HAVEN'T WORKED IN 4 YEARS.

I'M REALLY WONDERING IF I HAD THE ADRENAL INSUFFIENCY BEFORE I EVEN WENT ON THE TREATMENT.

I WENT ON THE TREATMENT BECAUSE I WAS FLATTENED OUT. I FELT LIKE I HAD NOTHING TO LOOSE EVEN WITH THE SIDE EFFECTS
SINCE I WASN' T FUNCTIONING ANYWAY.

BUT THEN WHEN I HEAR about OTHER PEOPLE ENDOCRINE PROBLEMS I REALLY WANT TO THINK TWICE about TAKING ON THE TREATMENT AGAIN.

MY GENO TYPE IS NOT ONE. I FORGET WHAT IT IS. I THINK IT IS THE SECOND EASIEST TO CURE.

I'M WONDERING IF THERE IS SURVIVORS OF HEP C TREATMENT WEB SITE?

EITHER WAY. YOU SOUND LIKE YOU ARE DOING WELL, ALL THINGS CONSIDERED.
THE MAIN THING IS TO GIVE YOUR LIVER A BREAK. WHEN THE LIVER IS STRESSED IT MAKES ALL THE OTHER ORGANS WORK HARDER AND THEY BURN OUT

YOUR TAKING VITAMIN C AND ZINC?

HAVE YOU EVER DONE COFFEE ENEMAS? THAT'S THE NUMBER ONE HOLISTIC LIVER DETOXIFIER.
THERE ARE CANCER DOCTORS THAT SWEAR BY THEM.

I WOULD HAVE LOST MY MIND BY NOW WITHOUT THEM.

HAVE YOU EVER SHAVED YOUR HEAD?

MY HAIR WAS SO BAD FROM THE TREATMENT AND HAIR DIE, I JUST TOOK A BUZZER AND SHAVED IT.

ONCE YOU FINISH THE TREATMENT .....OUT WITH THE OLD ..IN WITH THE NEW!

IT'S A VERY LIBERATING FEELING BUZZING YOUR HEAD.

YOU CAN MAKE IT THE 24 WEEKS. IF YOUR COUNTS DROP TOO LOW YOUR DOCTOR WILL PROBABLY GIVE YOU PROCRIT AND NEUPRIGIN.

MY DOCTOR SAID IF I START THE TREATMENT AGAIN SHE WILL GIVE ME THOSE SHOTS FIRST TO REALLY BOOST ME UP SO I DON'T FALL OUT SO FAST.

DO YOU HAVE ANY COCONUT OIL FOR YOUR SKIN. COCONUT OIL IS VERY GOOD FOR THE LIVER.

TKE GOOD CAARE, EILEEN

Hi Bucci, Im sorry not many people are responding to you. I think that most of your questions can be found in some thread on this forum. . My husband is 47 and it has been rough on him,,never thought hed be so sick, but as long as it lowers the hep viral load in his body,it will be worth it.. its been rough but hes stuck it out. He just started losin his hair a month or so ago,,,,,,and buzzed his head this moring lol He figures it will be cooler for summer anyway, and instead of finding 40 long strands of hair in the bathtub,it will be 40 short lil nubs lol Im sure the weather is a big factor in not many of the regulars posting,so please try to be patient:) Everyone has been couped up all winter long,so im sure tryin to get out and get fresh air. oh in case ya didnt know, hep b that hubby has is NOT curable, they can only get it to go into submission-like state,,,,,so its a lil different then what you have.
good luck
