Hi-- I have recently found out that I had autoimmune disease and antithyroid antibodies (TPOS 1300) due to Hep C before they gave me interferon for Hep C and it explains a lot about my extreme reactions to tx.  I also have NAFLD with severe steatosis.  When the liver doc last saw me he said he wouldn't worry about the fatty liver because I was not a diabetic and didn't have other major problems (that were diagnosed at the time).  Now I know more, should I follow up on this with the Hepatologist again?  It's tricky for the rheumatologist to treat me because my problems are due to Hep C infection so I have an acquired autoimmune disease and wasn't born with it, so my labs are weird.  And then giving me intron a caused further odd accentuations of autoimmune problems so I'm not a real predictable patient.  Has anyone else had autoimmune disease and TPOS/Hashis and given interferon?  Just wondering whose responsibility it is to deal with this stuff since of course both docs like to offload what they can.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.  I hope everyone has a good weekend!

hi marji,
id recommend going to a hepatologist to deal with your combination issues,,,,and you should have a GOOD family dr to coordinate all the info from the specialist. maybe go see your family dr and ask him for recommendation. Good luck hon and you have a good weekend too
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body used up ,totally worn out and screaming"WOOOOHOO WHAT A RIDE!!!"
