IVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO DO IT UNLESS ITS LIFE OR DEATH. THIS COULD CAUSE BAD BIPOLAR STUFF. IT HURTS TO MUCH AND TAKES TO LONG TO RECOVER FROM GOTNG CRAZY. TO MUCH ANXIETY, FEAR OF RELAPSE .LOW SELF WOFTH ......IVE BEEN THERE

I'm not bi-polar but I am major depressive. Interferon w/ribavirin sent me into a suicidal depression that took several years to recover from. That said, have you asked your psychiatrist about it? If you're not compliant with your meds now, can you become so? With a good shrink and vigilance, it may be okay. How bad is your HCV? Do you have fibrosis or cirrhosis? If you're in good shape, you may want to hold off. If you're at level 3 or 4 HCV or level A cirrhosis, doing it now may make sense. At some point the option dsappears.

I have ESLD from HCV. I was first diagnosed in 1994 when I suffered a ruptured esophageal varicies. I was part of the clinical trial for the original Rebetron therapy. I had initial but not sustained response. I became deathly ill in 2002 and was ensolled in the liver transplant program at the University of California, San Francisco. My MELD hit 18 and stopped. With proper edication and divine intervention my liver got better. I've MELD score has been stable ataround 12 - 15 for nearly 2 years.
