My wife was diagnosed with HBV.  The Doc told her she had A then it was left untreated and undetected for too long so it upgraded. Is that possible?
I know that it's not only from Sexual contact but how else does someone get it?
We started some treatments but then couldn't afford it.  We started Pegasys and copegus but then had to stop due to finacial reasons.  Right now she is taking a vitieman (herbal pill) that is supposed to help maintain it.  Does it keep it where it's at or does it go up from there?
What other steps can we do so it doesn't become worse or upgrade to HBC?
Please help me or tell me links you can think of to help me.
Thank you

hep A,B,and C are all different viruses,,,so upgrading is NOT what has happened with the hep,,,,hep b is contracted through blood,or semen,,,,,not through hep a being untreated,,,,though im NOT a dr,I know this to be a fact,,,,i would strongly recommend that you change drs,as this person has not a clue about hep,,,,,,and i wouldnt hesitate telling this person so,,,,,as i have a few drs,,,,,please seek out all the information that is available to you about hep b,,and then consult with new drs and find the right one for you,,,,and your wife,,,one that is knowledgeable and also understands what your going through,,,,,,,by the way,,hep is only upgraded by the cirrhosis being upgraded,,,,,it does NOT advance from a,b to c,,,,they are all different types of hep,and are not linked to each other ,,,,except by how they are transmitted,,,my advice to you is educate yourself,,,,and then educate the ones around you, including your wifes drs if neccesary,,,,good luck and please dont hesitate to post,,,this is a great place for not only support, but friendship and honesty,,hope you gain the knowledge and the strength to deal with this tragic illness,,,,:huge hug for you :
