Just wondering how many of you have had Hep shots that did not work? I had both Hep A and B shots done years ago only to find out that I have chronic Hep B (probably from childhood). My doc had me redo the Hep A shots to prevent complications. I've done them twice now and nothing. Complete inability to create antibodies to Hep. I was told that it can happen after some shots but usually works after a second round of shots. So now they want me to be carful with my vacations and avoid Hep prone places. No more caribbean vacations for me   mad

I was immunized against hep b while working as a nurses aide, completed the series, and contracted hep b from my husband almost 2 yrs ago. NO antibodies at all,,,,,,,,luckily my body fought it off and it was not chronic, but sometimes the immunizations dont work, i think i saw its like 1 percent of ppl it doesnt work on. I also got very very ill during my bought with it, was hospitalized and my dr told me later he thought I wasnt going to make it,,,,,that is very rare too, most ppl dont even know when they contract it. sorry to hear you can't build the antibodies, and as far as the caribbean vacations,,,at least youve had those kind of vacations, before this...there is alot to see if you like to travel in the U.S. :) Dont give up,,are you on treatment for hep? take care

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body used up ,totally worn out and screaming"WOOOOHOO WHAT A RIDE!!!"
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance:)
