Good morning Butterfly, Google low sodium recipes. There are lots of sites. As far as the meats are concerned probably to only way to lower the sodium is smaller portions. Some docs recommend a low protein diet. As a damaged liver may have a tough time processing the protein which some believe to cause the ammonia levels to rise. I switched my husband protein intake to chicken, fish, pork and beans and eggs. I didn't give him beef too often and when I did it was in a very small portion. I myself believe that there is a direct relation between protein intake and ammonia levels. When ever my husband ate too much protein he would have a encephalothpy epizode with in 8-10 hours of eating it. Even though he took his lactalose regularly.
But back to the sodium. My husband's sodium went so low I had to start putting a little salt on some of his food. Everthing thing is a balancing act. Food, salt, vitamins and meds. Always adjusting as the different symptons appear. Good luck with the recipes and have a good day.
When the going gets tough....the tough get going!
