Thanks spasmaan. My major symptoms D and swelling and bloating. Cant even work right now. cant stay out of bathroom. For 25 years I have been treated for allergies and Ibs lots of Drs. and medicine. Use to get better for a few years after new treatments, for last 5 years no relief and my job has had it. Cant blame them, so have I. They keep saying go on disability so we can get someone in here who is dependable. But Drs. just keep saying no we can control youre D you can work. Now after reading Im afraid I should not have taken all of the medicine to work. All I know is I am broke and ready to just give up and work at home. Trying to find something now but I have to go back to work for one month when FMLA over. ok I am going crazy with no one to talk to all day. Sorry I go on and on.

Do you have any other symptoms other than the D? They probably already have, but have the Dr/s checked your gall bladder and all that stuff?

I know I had gall bladder surgery about a year and a half ago, and D was my main issue with it. A few weeks ago I had a bad spell being sick at my stomach again every day or two. I'd be fine a day or two then sick a day or two. I was pretty sure that I just had a bad stomach virus because most people in my family had been doing the same. (I'm still pretty sure thats what it was) but the dr done stool samples, blood work and found that my liver enzymes were slightly elevated, so she wanted do an ultrasound on my liver. It came back "ok" just that I had a "fatty" liver. So she then wanted to test me for Hepatitis. My results came back as "borderline for Hep B'" she said she doesn't really know what Borderline for that would mean. She kinda thinks that it's inconclusive, I could or couldn't have it. But I'm supposed to be going to a Gastroenterologist to have a further test. I don't think I would have hep B because the way it's contracted is highly unlikely for me to have gotten.

I hope you find your answers. I would just be persistant with the doctors. I feel for you. I pray you find your solutions soon. I wish there were more work from home opportunities....that way people could work and earn thier living while being in a comfortable place to deal with these day to day problems. I know my issues are very minor compared to most here, but I have wished so much to find something I can do from home so that I didn't have to face the anxieties and worry to deal with things at work.....

Hang in there. Not sure if you're a christian but, if you are just remember the verse about how God will supply out needs....

Take Care.

jane doe,

Thanks so much for reply. I have read all about livers for a week. Im hoping for fatty liver too. I think anyway that you van control that with diet. Is that what you were told? Ive gone from size 6 falling off me to size 12 or maternity pants in about a year and a half. I am now according to charts

on computer obese. Im only 5'1. I also read that hepititus is treated with medicine. I have had my gallbladder checked numerous times over the years. My family Dr. is so great. He always keeps trying when the specialist just give up. I was upset when he made me get another blood test to make sure I didnt have something else going on AGAIN. But now that my liver has something, glad he did. I THINK from all I have read that as long as you detect early it will be ok. Unless cancer, which scares me to death. Lost my husband of 22 years to cancer. Dont want to put my kids thru that.Good luck with your Dr.

Normal, did your doctor tell you how much your LFTs were off?  I ask because the ALT/AST values can be out of range for some pretty benign issues (for instance, they'll be elevated the day after you have a couple drinks with friends, perhaps, or after taking acetominophen).  I would hate to see you under a lot of stress if it turned out to be a "normal" abnormality, you know?

Sarita,
I didnt ask, the nurse just said I needed to have a cat scan. I will try not to worry. I also am really wondering if my liver could be causing alot of my problems. I have so much pain I wonder if that is the reason. Trying not to worry. Just hoping will finally get some relief. Never had my bouts last more then a year. Now they say will not go away anymore so I am just trying to stay fuctional. Not working very well so far sad Have been pretty negative lately, sorry.
