Hey everyone,I hope everyone is doing well,I just have some questions from reading other peoples post I've noticed that some people are mentioning that they have different stages of ibs.Can someone please explain the differences to me,cause maybe my ibs is at a different stage also.I'm thinking about asking my GI doctor the next time I see him if I may have a enhanced stage of ibs.Cause with my ibs if I do not eat as often as I should recommended by my nutritionist and GI doctor the foods that my nutritionist has me eating which are cooked vegetables.I end up having very frequent bms for like tiny formed poop,I need to keep eating the cooked vegetables so that my poops will be long and formed well and I will be having to move my bowels less.I ****ing feel like my body is keeping me prisoner and it hurts from wiping so many times because of having to move my bms so often.I feel like screaming and crying out loud but I dont, and I hate it when I get dhiarrea I get it more often then usual.I do not know how much more I can take of this I'm on a probiotic called Align and I have not been on it that long to notice a real difference that is my last hope. Please is there anyone going through similar things so I do not feel so alone,I wish this would just go away this has taken a part of me of who I once was.The outgoing and happy person I used to be I want back, and I'm tired of being lonely I want to meet people my age going through this exact thing.I know I would be able to relate and be less down on myself if I had someone in my life who can be there for support when I'm going through my symptoms.I just need to keep praying and hoping on my miracle of being healed from this, cause I'm trying to learn to live with this and it's soooo hard to.I keep everyone in this forum in my prayers and pray that God does not give us to much that we can not handle. God bless and take care everyone. xoxoxoxo

With IBS, some are strictly prone to D, some C (constipation) and for some it alternates (A) between diarhea and constipation.

Hi j,
I'm sorry to read your post, you do sound very lonely and I hope we can continue being a soundboard for you even if we can't hang out with you in person. Like pb4 said, a lot of people with IBS have symptoms that are pretty atypical...they'll be constipated one minute and a flood of D the next. In your case, it sounds like you have frequent bowel movements that never feel quite "satisfactory."

If I were you, I'd continue with the Align to give it a chance to work. Some people say it's taken several weeks to notice an effect from probiotics. Are you saying that your BMs are more consistent if you eat cooked veggies, or less? Do you notice quite a difference depending on the food you eat? How do raw vegetables affect your gut? What about oatmeal, bran, other fiber-containing foods?

I am one of those chronic diarrhea people, and I have D at least five times a day (up to 20+ times a day when it's really bad). I know how sore the bum can get! Sometimes I use those witch hazel pads to ease the ol' burning arse. It's no miracle cure but it keeps things more tolerable. Also, hydrocortisone cream (1%, the kind you can find in the grocery store) can make things a little less irritated in that area.

You're not alone, even though it feels that way sometimes...go ahead and vent whenever you need to, that's what we're here for! Hang in there, buddy!

What about baby wipes or something like that? Ones without alcohol, of course. I thought witch hazel was drying. Haven't used it for a long time for anything.

Well, it's an astringent, so is used for hemorrhoid treatment, but I've always used it for plain ol' sore arse too. But baby wipes would probably be effective too. Or even aloe vera.

I gently rub extra virgine olive oil on my butt, I know it sounds weird but EVOO has soothing components as well as pain relief and it's also a anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial....it's excellent for use on the skin, I actually use it everyday as a moisturizer, it soaks into the skin without clogging pores and makes the skin sooooooo soft....I use it on my hair and scalp at night before bed too, on my skin right out of the shower in the day.

Ya, I eat alot of it daily too, it's suppose to help keep you from aging and now that I'm in my 40's trying to look young when you feel like you've got the body of a 90 yr old is a feat in itself LOL!

I am a big fan of the new Cottonelle toliet paper with aloe in it; haven't had a sore bumhole since I switched (well, at least not when I'm at home; work still has somewhat cheap paper).

Hey everyone thanks for the replies and the caring words they mean a lot.I found that Cottonelle is a huge comfort just found that out,and also Angel Soft but Cottonelle is better.Today I also had the D again but right now everything is at peace in my stomach again.about to have a bowl of cereal cause I'm really hungry now hopefully the cereal will settle.I went and got the new box of Align and started on it again today it is so expensive $40 but I need to buy another box so I can keep up with taking it.I eat cooked veggies not raw and when I'm not on the recommended diet that's when I have frequent bowel movements for little shaped bowels that is what I hate.I got to keep up with eating several times a day and eating cooked veggies so that my bowels will be formed and less frequent. And I'm limited to certain foods that I can and not eat,but I miss cookies, brownies all the sweet things and chocolate my all time favorite.I can not over do it on chocolate another part of ibs that I hate not being able to eat the yummy foods that I used to enjoy. But I take it day by day,I just recently posted a posting on craigslist to start a support group with people with ibs around my age.No responses yet hoping that people in my area will respond soon. But thanks again guys for the supportive words,I will keep posting my questions and posting on how I'm dealing with things.all my love xoxoxo

I use the cottonel wet wipes. You dont have to move them eyes so no rubing, cannot believe I am talking about wiping. If I get real sore I found that vasiline really protects from more irritation. Friend  with Chrons told me that. Any other brand of wet wipes burns and causes more irritation. I tried witch hazel per nurse OWWWW burn city. I have also been told that baby Desitin helps.
