Hey everyone, how are you all?,I'm doing good today had a really good day just got out and enjoyed the day.I've been taking living with IBS day by day I have my good days and my really bad days.I've been going to therapy to talk out my feelings just trying to cope with the symptoms of IBS.I was just hoping that one day I would fully get rid of it,but I know that's a far fetched hope to have.My GI doctor says that there is no cure and it's something I'm going to have to deal with and not let it get to me so much.I've mentioned that I've been taking a new pro-biotic called Align for a couple of weeks now and it's taking it's time really doing it's job.I went and got two new boxes of it and I just pray it works and does all that it says on the box.I want to be able to have a life again it's to the point where fear always comes up if I need to go out and know that I'm going to be around people, feeling afraid that I'm going to have to run and search for a bathroom. But I always make sure that I use the bathroom at home before I need to go out,but my body does that automatically as soon as I get up in the morning.I have several bms cause I know my body by now it's like it knows when I need to head out to go about my day, lol.I thank God for that cause I know that is what get's me out and around people.I've also mentioned that I've pretty much isolated myself from the friends that I have they are always asking me to go out like to the movies, out to eat,to the clubs which I miss going to cause I love to dance.Mainly because of my ibs symptoms acting up fearing that they will flare up in public.I know when you need to use the restroom it's a natural thing if I'm out in public but I'd rather not if I had the choice.I dread public restrooms just feeling afraid that I'll have to use it several times and someone walking in,lol, but if I do I get through it basically rushing the process, lol. So that no one will walk in on me,lol. But back to feeling lonely I want to find new friends around my age(in their late twenties that )that are also living with IBS I just know that I would be able to relate and share my stories of my day to day dealings with IBS.I know with whoever we could be there to encourage and support each other, and I know their new friendship would mean a lot to me.Just to have someone or persons to call me up and see how I'm doing and asking me to go out somewhere.I know that I would feel a lot comfortable just knowing that were going through the same things.I wold never wish IBS on anyone not even my worse enemy this disorder needs to not exsist it needs a cure.If I could I would fight for that there would be more funding to go to finding a real answer or cure for people's relief from the symptoms of IBS.If there is anyone in the Boston area around my age who would love to get in contact with me about starting an IBS support group I would be soooo happy.I would even offer up my apartment to hold the meetings,or even if your not in the Boston area you may contact me I would love to be a new friend to you to just be able to chat and be that supportive person that you need that you could relate to.I wish everyone blessed and good days and dont forget all we can do is take it day by day. ALL MY LOVE jtaurus xoxoxoxoxo :-)

Hey jtaurus,

Dont live in boston area but what a wonderful idea. I think I will work on a support group here! I just posted new thread about going on the chat at certain times for the very same reason. Im not going out to do anything either right now and get sooo bored, just need to talk to people that understand.Hope you have 2 bathrooms in your apt. if you have it thereLOL. The nurse yesterday kept laughing at me when I said something and I told her you either have to laugh or cry at this embarrassing disorder. I do both. And I hate to be negative but sometomes it just gets to you and you need to vent. Others that dont have it just have no concept. Im 50 and after 25 years of trying to FIX this IBS a new DR. yesterday finally told me what you have already figures out. You cant fix it! you just have to live with it, try to be functional. I really think we need to start something to start looking for a cure. More awareness at least at how this is so hard to be functional with. Social security and Dr. dont even think it is hard to deal with. I think you trying to find people with same disorder to handg with is a great idea. I have friends with Crohns so they can relate. Actually they get upset with Drs. with me for not trying to fix us(IBS) patients more. Sarita if you are reading this is there anything in medical right now on research or cure? Have to tell you when my IBS started at 25 it would come and go sometimes for over a year, Dr. said that normal so hang in there, hopefully you will have a break soon.

are you kidding me? Hav eyou read some of my other post? redface I have handled it fine for 25 years but Ive had a major meltdown for the last couple of weeks. Thats why I was so gald to hear your idea.I told my friend you have already figured out what it took me years to figure out. I think you are way ahead  of the game Jtaurus. I want you to know that my bouts of IBS use to come and go. So maybe yours will let up soon. My Drs. said that was the norm, but now they are here to stay. Been on a 2 weeker and Im really struggling to keep my head up. This forum is the only thing that really helps. MY fiance is great and tries but it really helps to get support from those who know.Have you had any luck with your group there? All Ive done so far is to get on the computer to see if there was one already listed in this area. NO such luck so gotta go another route. Take care, Normal
