I love the forum but as you can tell sad sometimes I just need to talk and vent with others who are going thru the same. Have to be in bedroom by bathroom and get so bored! Never see anyone with IBS on chats. On different time zones. Would someone want to suggest certain times a day that we could get on chats and just talk?

OK OK I will pick a time and try to check it at that time. Since we all TRY to work and live a normal life, how about 10:00 P.M. I will check it at that time so if you just are bored and need some company jump in. Just printed a bunch of stuff on ssd yuck. New IBS joke :-) Why is IBS-D like the eveready Bunny?

Sorry Normal. 10 p.m. what time zone? What day? Today? I didn't see this post and it's now 1:30 a.m. Pacific time...

Did you talk to your doc about SSD? Man, I do not envy the process of going through that sign-up process...

Thats ok Sarita its just a time if someone fells like it. I didnt have a chance to get on last night anyway. 10:00 central time. Im going to have someone using my computer the rest of the week on a project so Im not sure it I will be there anyway. My NEW DR. said that SSd really doesnt consider IBS as a reason not to work. However I have read alot and am going to have all ready for when I get canned sad MY job cannot function properly with me not being at my desk and so unreliable. I have not kept all of my test and paperwork cause always thought I would fix this. He also said it was impossible to control this all the time so I figured I would just have all ready. Im getting so upset about the pain, D, and sewlling that I go to bed half the time so I wont have to deal with it.At times I just want to give up so Im going to try to start a support group here, and work on a better future for me. Just get tired of coping sometimes. Answere to joke IBS-D and everyeady Bunny both "Just keep going and going, STILL GOING :-) Ok Im not too good at making up jokes. Take care.

Hi normal, I also would like to chat with others that suffer from  IBS C. Hey Normal, I am on the east coast USA. I know its difficult to set up time to chat for everyone, because of time zone differences. Anyway, hope you are doing well normal and everyone else. Take care all..smilesssssss

Normal, you don't know until you try with the SSD. I was turned down the first time and was approved on the appeal. It sucks not having an income for two years while you wait but I found in the end that it was worth it. I had nothing put together and the initial application took about four months from application to denial. It may take you less if you have your medical records already together and ready to go. Alot of the time with me was waiting for my doctors to get my records back to the social security office. That and there is a five month waiting period before you can collect benefits anyways. But you can apply before then, just you will not get paid before then.

Yeah, I'm on IBS only. While I was out of work I got approved for insurance through the state. You will get nailed with the pre-existing condition clause if you do this though. I know I had to be without insurance for a certain period of time( only a couple of months) but it was long enough that the new insurance could exclude my IBS. They still covered my meds though and the specialist I saw for my IBS. But when I called they wouldn't have covered the colonoscopy that I had be scheduled for. I think I ended up paying 250 a month for the insurance but that could have changed since I was on it because I got married and went on my husband's.

Thanks so much Lady Frog. I am also engaged. If it wasnt for him I could not even atempt this. I would be alot worse off. HOwever he thinks his insurance has pre clause also. I thought that was one lf the few things that Clinton accomplished with insurance, that they could not do that anymore. Oh well it really helps to know that someone accomplished this for IBS. Any tips? Drs. say SSD does not approve just IBS. Everyont says I have to be depressed too. I am depressed but I will not take meds. Will control with lots of love :-) . Want me to go on Donnatal again. My boss said "Isnt that the one that depressed you? I cried all the time. But it helped with mood swings and hot flashes while I was going thru change. That was 5 yrs ago, been off it for 2 yrs. That was not fun going of it. Got it filled but really dont want to take it. I havent taken anything for a month. Wanted to see how I was with no meds. Not good, thats for sure. I am just really worried about my liver enzymes and kidneys. I dont want to ruin them with meds just so I can work till I die. The whole idea is to have better quality. But not for a couple of years then be really sicker. Oh well no one understands that. Im 50, just want to enjoy grandkids and be there for my family. Hope you enjoy your time at home. SO now that you are on ssd, what kind of meds do you take? I have IBS-D so I dont have to take something to go. I have to take to stop.
