I'm taking Align a pro-biotic, should I ask my GI doctor if I could also start taking a pre-biotic along with it?,to build up an even healthier digestive system.I would love to read your opinions. :-)

Of course you can take both, prebiotics are probiotics in the form of prebiotic foods...you can't really over-do good bacteria.

Yes you can.  I was just reading an article the other day that said taking prebiotics and probiotics at the same time sets up a "harmony in the gut".  Not the most pleasant way to state it, but then they said it not me. tongue

I forgot to add that if you are taking a med. like lomotil or are on some type of fiber therapy, do not take it with the pre or probiotics.  I found out the hard way and my doc said that was a big nono.  Talk about bad cramps. Whew!

Yes I've noticed that for a couple of days now I'm on a diet of cooked veggies which is a source of fiber.I noticed that I had some cramping where I thought that I was about to have the D,but then the cramps went away. But bring that up to my GI doctor. And I will look into taking pre-biotics also anything to get my digestive health to where I want it. Thank you :-)

You could also take digestive enzymes after every meal, these help break food down for you making it easier on the digestive tract...natural digestive enzymes are kiwi, pineapple, mangos and papya.
