Has anyone ever been diagnosed with GERD, tried meds that didn't help and then found out it was your gall bladder?

I'm sure there are people out there who have experienced this. Sometimes the symptoms of GERD can be similar to those of cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder). Nausea, epigastric pain, etc. Have you had an EGD (upper scope) and/or an abdominal ultrasound or HIDA scan? Those are the basic tests to rule out both of these conditions.

I was told on one or two occasions that I had an acid problem when, in fact, I had a bad gall bladder. I had an endoscopy which showed no acid damage, nor any sign of acid reflux, but I was still told that my bowel problems (which, oddly enough, were mostly diarrhea-related) was caused by acid reflux.

Bile happens to be an acid, but acid reflux medicine, as far as I'm aware, doesn't work on it at all because they work by reducing stomach acids--and bile comes from your gall bladder.
