I have a question has anyone tried taking fennel pills to get rid of gas or even prevent it from happening.I have a big problem with gas I get it every morning needing to pass huge amounts of gas to start off my day, lol, but I always feel better after I do.Then I start having my bms for the day then I feel better after those. That is how my body reacts every morning,it never fails I never had this issue before having IBS.I got up without needing to pass gas I hate this so much even though there is no one around to hear me do what I got to do every morning, should I take gas-X at night or something? Really looking forward to reading your replies to this problem, take care everyone. sad

Take a Gas-x after you eat. I just ordered some fennel capsules so can only go by the peppermint, fennel, ginger capsules I have used and it helps some but I want to stay away from the peppermint. We all need some gas to help things move. You might also try a Pepcid at night before bed. I take a different med now that is helping me but I don't want to get into it all again here. You ccan read it under Bloating, gas,etc on this forum. There are a lot of threads on gas on here that might help you but if you only have it in the morning then it really isn't a serious problem compared to many. if you are drinking anything carbonated you need to stop as that is the worst for gas.

I on the other hand find peppermint caplets most successful. Here in UK we can buy Colpermin capsules and these do help me. Don't know about the fennel but many speak well of it. I think it is very much a question of what works for you as an individual.

Good luck.

Either GasX or Beano will help.

The active ingredient in things like Gas-X is simethicone, just look for that on the label...pretty harmless stuff and it does work!
