Sorry, that is sick. But does anyone else have this problem? Also, my IBS seems to be only on my left side... is that weird?

I'm currently going through this myself right now. In between bathroom trips actually. I think that in some ways it's normal. Just like everyone will get D a couple times a year no matter what for no reason or get stopped up and not go for a few days. If it's constant then you might want to bring it up to a doc but I get this a few times a month easy and my doc says I'm just fine.

I think that an outsider stumbling on the forum would think that alot of what we talk about here is sick or disgusting. But sometimes you gotta get specific if you want advice.

And for the longest time my biggest pains were on my left side. My Ex used to look at me weird because I'd half curl into a ball but have my left side all scrunched up while my right side was all stretched out. Even now that the pains have either evened themselves out or I'm just used to it now, if I put my hot water bottle on the left side I get more pain relief then if I use it on the right. I've had this for almost six years now and the left side is still the side that gives me the most trouble.

IBSers often have skinny BMs. 1 possibility is that the spasming in your intestines is causing the compressed stool.
Are you saying your pain is on the left? It's pretty common with IBS. Your colon swings all the way around to your left side and connects to your rectum. Usually when you make several trips to the restroom your guts will be sorest on that side.

Skinny BMs can also be a sign that the walls of your colon are inflammed, this used to happen to me as well.

Phew, thanks. Yes, it really only hurts under my left ribs. It feels like a big ball in there. Sometimes the pain goes through to my back. Sometimes I can feel spasms, and twitching, and sometimes it just hurts. A LOT.
