This is very awkward of me to ask... but does anyone else during their period bleed through the um bowel hole? I heard of it once and it just recently happened to me (i think).. just wondering if anyone knows of anything about this. Thanks

Hey new, don't feel awkward to ask anything here, we've heard it all! Rectal bleeding should always be checked out by a physician. It could be something as simple as hemorrhoids or simple irritation (or even red Kool-Aid!), or it could be more serious. Are you sure it was rectal bleeding and not vaginal bleeding, since it happened during your period?

Ooh, the tomato could definitely be the culprit! But if you're in crazy pain, you should get yourself checked out! I am sorry you are in so much pain :(

I'm sorry you are in pain (((empathy)))
It could be the tomato, the nasty sucker! If you are still in pain I would suggest seeing the doc too,

It could be endometriosis. Many women with endo also have IBS and, unfortunately, mistaken diagnoses are common. I was told for years that all my ab pain was from the endo, actually, I was told for many more years before that that all my ab pain was normal. Rectal bleeding during your cycle is a symptom of endo. I suggest you do some research, many doctors claim to be endo specialists but aren't.

After suddenly developing anemia unrelated to my cycles, they decided to take my complaints seriously. A few months ago a pill cam showed that I had ileitis.

I hate when doctors get lazy and blame all your symptoms on a previously diagnosed condition, they don't want to bother checking for other causes.

Yes!  Every month on my second day I have rectal bleeding as well as vaginal.  And awful pain.
