I have had IBS-C for 12 years, so you'd think by now I'd know better. But I ate a casserole with canned tomato products and cooked cabbage in it over the weekend - got diarrhea. Then I ate some BAD foods - ate a lot of beef and turkey jerky and some diet soda and Chinese takeout and I am horribly constipated. I can't pee either and I am pretty sure I am retaining a ton of fluid. I have a spare tire and huge gut which normally is not there, and I am 5'7" and normally weigh 112 pounds, or at least I did a few days ago. I am in pain and I want to do an enema but am worried that the enema will make the fluid retention/bloating worse. I already know I shouldn't be eating sugar but that doesn't mean I don't. I am human after all. Lately things have been so stressful and I can see myself destroying my body by what I eat but I don't know what to do. I just feel so ugly and fat right now. I need to fix the constipation and get this fluid out. Any ideas?

The fact that you can't pee is worrisome. Even a person who is retaining has no problem urinating. Before I would do an enema I would take Dulcolax (not the stool softner the real laxative) You are certainly not overweight. This is only Monday and if you had diahrea on Sat your system is probably messed up right now. If I have diahrea which is rare it takes me about 3 days to get over it and I often have to take a Dulcolax to get going again though i usually only take a half dose. I don't undertand the not peeing and perhaps you should call your Doctor if you really are not peeing as that can be toxic to your system.
