Hello!
Im new (obviously =])
I'm 20 and was dx'ed (diagnosed---I'm a cert. Medical asst so sorry for the abbrvs lol) with IBS in Feb this year but ive had it since early 2007. I lost my niece feb 07 and that brought on anxiety, which brought on my "nervous stomach". I just dealt with it...I started school right after she was killed and just thought it had to be nervousness.
Well, it persisted through my new job @ the hospital in Oct of 2007, and it persisted....and persisted.

i finally went to the Dr after i got insurance and he said i had IBS/anxiety so he put me on Lexapro. it worked great. I only had the excessive gas and diarrhea/excessive BMs. Lexapro helped with that. I had to get off of it though b/c i gained weight despite my efforts at the gym & eating right.
soooooooooooooo i was put on Cymbalta. hasnt helped much with the IBS but has with my anxiety.

last month i expierenced some pregnancy symptoms- one of which NAUSEA >=[ I took test after test....NEGATIVE. what the world is going on with me??
Ive been nauseous pretty much EVERY DAY for over a month.
I also suffer from frequent migraines, but im not only nauseous with them.

to cut my long pointless story short....i guess this nausea is from the IBS?? i have GERD as well and take prilosec or Nexium for it. I know its the GERD when i vomit pure acid when i havent had anything acidy to drink and feel fine afterwards. lately its been i vomit and still feel like the S word. Ive gotten to the point to where i dont want to eat, but i ahve to with the meds i take regularly- esp Cymbalta.

I emailed my personal Dr and will go see him Friday (i used to work at his office) and talk with him- he knows i dont have insurance for another month since i just got a new job and understands. Im going to see what he can do for me until then.
Im also going to call the Dr i used to work for and see what he has to say-i have to catch up with him anyways.

this stuff is annoying! feels like i have a perma-stomach virus!!! feels liek i have to make a BM but i dont. i feel better knowing that im not alone. somehting just told me to look up IBS- i didnt think that IBS would coincide with N/V- or i just didnt THINK about it hard enough.

Im so happy i found this place =]]]]

Hi Lizzy,

Welcome to HealingWell!  :-)

I'm so sorry to hear of your tradgedy that brought on the nervous stomach.  Sometimes when our guts get out of wack, it's hard to get them back.
Do you take any probiotics?  They might help you get things back in balance.
Have you had any blood tests or a breath test to look for anything else (h.pylori, candida, etc.)?
I would also think it's not too far fetched that your nausea could be linked to GERD.  Are you taking anything for that (Prilosec, Nexium, etc.)?

I really hope your appt with the doc goes well.  Good luck!

Hope to keep seeing you around the boards.  smilewinkgrin

Hi Nice MOD person =]

I havent been to the Dr in a few months due to the no insurance thing so we havent really been able to discuss it.
I havent taken probiotics but I guess ill start eating yogurt =]! hehe... I had a complete workup my establishing visit to him btu it didnt include those things...btu i WBC was high--its under control now though.

Im taking Prilosec for my GERD and Nexium when i have the samples b/c it works a LOT better for me....and that usually controls it. I know when its GERD though, when i vomit i feel better and its jsut pure acid as if i just drunk sprite or something. (ew)

I will be around =]!!!!!
