I think you are on thyroid medicine? Make sure you take the calcium the same as the Welchol in terms of timing, because I seem to recall someone on here finding out that calcium can upset thyroid medicine absorption too. Maybe because it absorbs water in the intestines and keeps some from absorbing that way. Calcium, though, is good for irritated stomachs and intestines. It was what fixed me up after a bad reaction, I think to sugar alcohol.

Hot dogs generally don't bother me, but then I don't eat the beef ones. I'm okay with occasional beef, but it's harder to digest than poultry and fish so that can be a problem. Cole slaw is made from uncooked cabbage, isn't it? That could be a problem because a lot of people with IBS don't do well with raw veggies. They are also hard to digest. Also the fat in the mayonaise might have gotten you.

And then sometimes life is just random!

Very interesting to read the posts related to post gallbladder surgery. I wad mine removed about 10 years ago after a very painful attack. The thing that's very different for me is what brings on the symptoms (sudden abdominal pain and diarrhea). My trigger is not eating. If I skip breakfast I will have an attack by about 4 pm. I have not seen this listed as a result of the surgery from anyone else. I am now wondering if it is really caused by the removal of the gallbladder. Any feedback would be appreciated.
