OK I have been getting somewhat better for the past 4 months. And by better I mean more tolerable. No so many episodes of not going for several days, the D is more condensed( several trips in a short period instead of all day long) and even not needing my pills as much yeah but I have hit a bad C patch. It's going on five days with no movement. Once I got into my new diet the longest I went was two days then I would have a day of playing catchup so to speak. So what kind of things can I do to lessen the discomfort. If I still haven't gone by tomorrow afternoon I do have an enema around here somewhere because I needed one back in April and ended up buying the two pack. But I don't want it to come to that. I hate them with a passion( they make me wicked nauseous and they are evil evil things). Please C'er's help me go!

BUMP

Lady Frog,
I just thought by moving this back up to the top, you might have a better chance of getting replies.
Sorry I can't really help you with C. The only thing I suggest for EVERYONE with IBS is probiotics. They will help us all - C, D or A.

7Lil, I ended up going back and looking up old posts and finding some tips. I love french vanilla coffee. But I have been looking at probiotics. Just not sure which ones to try. Going to try Digestive Advantage to start and take it from there.

If you're still "stuck" (awful way to put it, isn't it), get a bottle of magnesium sulfate. Comes in a couple of flavors. You can drink it chilled or warm (I think I did mine warm), then drink a ton of water afterwards. That "should" get things moving within 12 hours or so, depending on your system. If it still isn't working, get some Milk of Magnesia and take 2 full cups of it. That, will get things going. This worked for me when I was completely blocked (entire intestine), just prior to my first colonoscopy. My system takes a minimum of 24 hours to think about moving...then add on another 12 for good measure. Hope this helps.

I just use Dulcolax, not the stool softener one but the regular. If it is only like 2 days I only use one Dulcolax and then it is not a made rush to the bathroom. It takes sometimes a whole 24 hours to work on me. If I were to use 2 it would work withing a few hours.

I have to do liquid stuff to help things along. For some reason, pills/tablets won't work.

Thanks Canyonbabe for the heads-up and link, I saw it this morning on the arthritis forum. Geez, could they add anymore "warnings" to these drugs? Gotta love it, eh?
