Been tested for just about evertthing they say its ibs. some days it makes me cry.Because of the feeling sick most of the time it has over the years lead to me ending up with a sick phobia i hate it. Welcome to the site, tilly!! :-)

I, like you, have a phobia of getting sick. I will do everything in my power to not puke. The phobia is called emetophobia and it is quite common among IBSers. You are definitely not alone.

Do you feel bloated? Do you think the pain you're feeling could be gas?

Ginger is GREAT for nausea.  Have you tried it?

The best way to consume ginger is to buy it fresh and make tea out of it (boil pieces of it). You can also find candied ginger, but I think it might be hard to find ginger capsules - well, I haven't found any (but I haven't looked that hard either). I suggest staying away from ginger ale - it's basically sugar and carbonation and 0% real ginger.
I will say, however, that soda water helps calm my nausea. It's bitter, but it works.

Hi Tilly,

I can identify with you ... I've felt like this for 6 years now and sometimes it really gets me down also.

I've found ginger capsules at just about every health food store I've been in.  Sometimes I take these daily and find that they work very well.
Take care, Softy
