I have had a chronic problem with gas and constipation for about 12 years.  I have tried over the counter products without much success.  Beanos and gasX doesn't help the gas problem.  Enemas ease some of the constipation for a few days but I still have a lot of gas.  I started having colonics done about twice a week last year for 4 months.  I felt better, but I never got to the point of becoming regular.  I had to keep relying on the colonics to help with the constipation and gas.  I recently started back having colonics about 3 weeks ago, twice a week.  Now I'm starting to have real bad gas the next morning all day.  I thought getting cleaned out was supposed to stop some of the gas.  I don't think that I'm lactose intolerant because I have gas no matter what I eat and it continues throughout the day.  I started seeing a chiropractor this week, and she's helping me relax with different treatments.  I'm drinking more water each day which is helping me have softer bowel movements, but the gas will not stop and has an awful smell.  Does anyone know what I should do?

Welcome to the forum, TB11...sorry to hear you're feeling so uncomfortable. If I were you, I'd talk to your doctor about an elimination diet. You could very well have food sensitivities or be intolerant to lactose, fructose, or sugar alcohols. The other way to determine if you have these intolerances is by hydrogen breath testing, and you would need to see a GI for that. I personally would go the elimination diet route first...try Googling "elimination diet" and you can see what to expect!
