I've read lots of different people posting about all of the bad things after GB surgery, and I haven't really had them.  So, I'm just wondering if there are some positive aspects.

I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago laproscopically.  The surgery went fine.   I was really sore for about a week, but then everything's been good.

The one main thing I've heard from everyone is the diarrhea that will happen afterwards.  Does everyone get it?  I have not had hardly in diarrhea.  Stools have been softer than they were before, but not any problem.  I'm also going the same amount I was before surgery.

I'm eating anything I want, with no problems afterwards.

I seem to be getting some "phantom" pains in the upper right area, and sometimes it is toward the middle & left upper area, but it comes & goes quickly.  Nothing like the pain before where I was taking pain pills everyday.

So, everything seems be pretty norma... should I be worried?  I've been not feeling well since July so I'm a little leary to say "Yeah... I feel great, no problem. Kind of waiting for the other shoe to fall so to speak.

Thanks

Hey marathon! Most GI docs will tell you that the diarrhea should start to subside within a couple months as your body recovers. For some people, the D persists and that's when an agent like cholestyramine (a bile acid binding medication) is used, and usually works really well. I'd recommend sticking to a low fat and low residue diet for a bit and you'll improve bit by bit!
